re: Can we talk Nussmeier bailing out on every throw

Would not criticize Nuss too much here. Coaches showed no confidence in the offense in the second half, no killer instinct to close out the game

that’s coaching…..
we know for a fact this isn’t who Nuss is

Scared. Throwing off his back foot. Looks bad

First true start as starter at neutral site vs very good team. Can the kid get his feet wet? Geez.

Happened once and the WR ran the wrong route. You little girls are worse than a sewing circle when you want to start a narrative.

I saw flashbacks of lee.
He will be good but we won’t be relevant so whatever.

Blaming this on nuss absurd
Nuss except for that last pass he flubbed was fantastic last night, anyone putting ANY of this on Nuss is absurd. He isn’t going to be perfect but he was not the problem. He and Lacy made USC look stupid whenever they wanted to.

I don’t think he’s bailing out or scared. I think he tried to make plays where they didn’t exist on some occasions. He maybe could have played with more rhythm in the second half

Sorry, but that’s terrible for a 4th year guy. Stand the f up and throw the ball off your front foot. Stop playing like you’re scared to get hit.
JD bailed out a lot in his 4th year as a starter (1st year at LSU), but he would just take off and run instead of throwing off back foot. He improved on staying in the pocket and making solid passes down the field.
It is funny how much criticism fans give QBs that some forget about when starter is black and then label criticism as being about the QB’s race.

If he's able to do that, I don't see the issue.
He didn't set his feet on that TD to Lacy.
Some people think "arm talent" is just a cliché. Here's an example of how it applies. Nussmeier is able to be accurate when not using what's commonly believed to be proper mechanics. He's also naturally good at adjusting arm angles for different throws.
These things are beneficial in throwing against pressure. Instead of having to step into pressure for pass attempts, he has ability to make passes while moving away from pressure.

Nuss overall did a pretty good job, but I do not see him “carrying “ this team.

The coaches didn’t let him last night. Instead they took it out of his hands in the second half and it cost us the game.

His stat line also wasn't "pretty good" it was elite.
Less than 5 yds air distance per throw is not elite... He was efficient last night and pretty much on target.
