Where on is resume does it show that he is a proven defensive coordinator? Him being the DC at Jeanerette and Franklin High tells alot, especially seeing how unprepared the defense was. Is this just a case of the old Rooney Rule?

Daronte Jones was recommended by Aranda. Ed is trying to recapture the defensive success Aranda had here. The big difference is that LSU isn't using the kind of linebackers that are needed to run a LB focused scheme. Jones, Sampah, Webb, BJ all seem like the kind of LBs that should work for that system. But none of them are seeing the field consistently.

Sometimes you need to run a scheme that matches the players you have, not try to make players fit a scheme they aren't made for.

Eta: I don't think we'll find another Devin White. But we should have multiple players on the roster that can play up to a Queen or Phillips level.

Was he though? Or are we just taking Ed O’s word for it?

Is Amanda the blonde chick in the photo with Orgeron?

Their schemes couldn’t be more different.

Aranda ran an odd man front and had a lot of radical concepts around resource allocations and forcing advantageous matchups (RB blocking DE).

Based on last night, we lived in an even man front and hardly ever left it. The schemes were polar opposite.

Aranda is a 3-4 guy, does Jones want to run a 3-4 but O told him he has to run 4-3. As for having someone like Queen at LB, he like Devin was a 1st round pick. I don't see any 1st rounders at the LB corp.

We should hire a proven defensive mind like, say, Bo Pelini

Y'all remember when Saban recommended Houston Nutt? Did we hire him?

Tell me you don’t know the difference between college and the NFL without telling me you don’t know the difference between college and the NFL

Daronte had no answers when they started attacking the middle of the field. Their WRs were just running decoy routes against our star DBs.

Chip Kelly’s plan was to attack our LBa and it worked to perfection.

Exactly. No adjustments. Something good coordinators do

It’s like les with oc’s. O clashed with aranda. Then he hires bo and daronte. Both defenses look eerily similar. O is dictating the defense.

Ed can’t come to his own conclusions is what I gather. Has to go ask Pete Carroll, Aranda, Brady for who to hire. You’d think a coach that follows the sport would know multiple guys off the top of his head that he’d want to work with

What’s scary is that maybe Ed does know and want these coaches but they want nothing to do with him.

Remember Jones was like the third or fourth choice (that we know of)

I thought he had a solid first quarter. After chip made adjustments it was downhill from there.

Reminds me of Ed's prime selling point to Alleva about getting Lane Kiffin to coach the offense.

Looking back, were we really gullible enough to think Kiffin was gonna take a job under his old DL coach?

so naive and blind. You don't think players should be made to fit a system but you think a coach should be made to fit a system?
