Firing Woodward was definitely a (politically motivated) mistake. Instead of having a real AD that had held that job at big schools around the country (Washington, A&M, etc.) we will now take some guy from McNeese. Backup plan is the dude from Southeastern. shite is downright pathetic.
What he did pulling Chris Peterson from Boise St was a marvel.
Getting Jimbo from FSU, at the very least TAMU was relevant. We're acting like they were some elite team that fell off after he was hired. The extension was not his doing.
Him getting Kelly made sense in the beginning. Coach O had ran this thing damn near down to the Earth's core. The problem was not forward thinking on how Kelly would be handling a unique situation like LSU. Only certain types can be the guy here. I definitely blame Woodward for the buyout at LSU though. However IMO, firing him was a horrible mistake. We have multiple sports doing extremely well thanks to him. All football would have needed was the right guy. BOS and big boy donors could have worked with Woodward on this, making their voices known. We just threw the baby out with the fricking bath water though. Louisiana in a fricking nutshell

He wouldn't come back. Not while Jeff Landry has a say in LSU's hierarchy. Can't say I blame him. For the Governor to come in and railroad him? Gives off total little you know what energy.

His whole schtick is to out bid competitors. Thats not necessarily a skill set. Not to mention women’s basketball ( which who cares) coach KM wanted to come back to LA. She did his work for him.
Also I think we all find ourselves speculating but not many if any on this board will really know what happened and why.

Woodward messed LSU up and TX A&M as well with dumb contracts.
Think of this....at the half way pt. in his contract, BK would earn about the same being fired (in one day) than he would earn working (and putting up with the pressures) working around 1500 days.

Not sure. The O Train was at full speed until Woodward was hired. Woody started meddling, just like he did at A&M. Train jumped the track, then Woody hired his Engineer. How did that geaux?

We were a shite show in 2021, we were extremely stable for whatever coach was next. Key word being WERE stable. We made it a shite show with Landry
If Landry never said shite and Woodward was still here the entirety of the media would be sucking our dick about how good of a job this is, just like they were before Landry sunk it
