All of those who said they’d be “disappointed” in this season if we don’t get to 20, still feel the same way? Bye in the SECT and a top 8 lock.

Yep, disappointed. Not winning the SEC regular season title with this team is a let down. On May 2, you predicted LSU would get to 23 wins. LSU finished 4 games worse than you thought we would just 19 days ago. We finished 3rd in the SEC. I don’t see how you aren’t disappointed.

At the time of that post, 23 wins would mean finishing 8-1. It wasn’t exactly realistic. In that same exact post, I said that finishing 7-2-1 and 19 wins was a top 8 lock. Why didn’t you mention that part you disingenuous prick? Just because I thought we would play better vs State and Auburn, doesn’t mean I’m disappointed or that the whole season was a disappointment. We never got swept. Our road record is exceptional. We are in a position to accomplish everything that matters. Finishing a 1/2 game away from an SEC title shouldn’t upset you so damn much.

Anyone that says winning the SEC title isn’t a goal isn’t being truthful. LSU failed to accomplish something that matters.

What is your goal for the post season? What would you consider a success, and what would you consider a disappointment over the next month?

It’s a goal solely because it means a top 8 lock. It matters because of what it means for the post season not because of a trophy or a banner.

It’s a disappointing season if we don’t make it to Omaha. Losing Edwards, Shores, and Taylor made huge impacts on who we have to rely upon in the pen. Hurd has turned things around. Coleman has looked good one time through the lineup. Skenes and Floyd are at their best. We have what we need to get to the CWS.

My bad, I thought we were having a serious conversation.

We’re not because in your mind if we had finished with 23 wins, it would still be a disappointment if Florida had finished with 24. Eat a dick.

That’s what LSU did at Auburn, at home against Miss State, and then yesterday with a chance to win the last game and claim the SEC title.

I have noticed a lot of these around these parts.

I am not setting any goals for the post-season. I don't believe in goals, I believe in commitments. And I will commit to calling out all whining pussies during the post-season

If we are being honest, this is probably a 22 win team with shores and edwards and more like a 17 win sec team without them. We finished about where we should, which is still awesome.

Bro what?

We count national championships, not SEC championships here at LSU.

Ell13 stated earlier this season that a major league scout told him this is the most talented college roster he’s ever seen.

A) This was after the season had started, so Taylor wasn’t in the mix then

B) I doubt the pro scout was including Edwards as a big addition to that talent because it was early in the year, before Edwards had much of a role.

C) I’ll concede Shores would have been part of that equation

I’m still trying to figure out how this lineup can enter the last game of the regular season with a chance to win the conference title,, facing a worn down pitching staff, and only came way with 5 runs on 7 hits.

Shores, Edwards an Taylor and we likely hit el's 23 wins, maybe 24.

IMO Taylor was the biggest loss of the season.

You know how this game is. Cant focus on one single game, always liable to throw up a dud.

But if you want to dig deeper, id say the issues are fairly obvious why they arent pounding saturday/sunday pitching.

Kling got hurt/hasnt panned out.
Crews is and has been in a slump of sorts for the last 3 weeks.
Dugas has been in a slump for the last 3-4 weeks, despite that he still gets on a bunch.
Nobody came and stole the dh spot, jones has had moments/travinski has had moments, and jobert has had moments.
Pearson didnt play like he was expected to for a majority of the season. That left holes.
Those holes have been filled by guys like beloso and travinski and jones….and they are fine, just not what you need for an elite offense

All very good points.

And with our pitching, combined with our defense, we need an elite offense.

If you win a natty you care less about a conference championship as a player and a fan. This team has bigger goals !

So I’ve got you down for national title or bust.

Agreed, im not a fan of the defense we trot out there, it combined with mediocre pitching will likely be our undoing IMO. Especially if Jones is at 1st
