Can the center and QB not stay after practice 5 minutes a day to learn under center snap?

We keep hearing that is not what we are comfortable with. How about keep doing it so you get comfortable with it when needed.

What would be a bigger tell than the only play you take from under center is a QB sneak. No way the other team could figure that out.

Everyone knows what the Eagles are doing and they do it anyway

And who cares if they know we are kneeling ball to run out the clock

BK said the reason we didn’t do it is because we aren’t comfortable with the snap

when is anyone ever confused about a QB sneak from the 1 yard line .

Its not meant to be deceptive.

Cardinals ran it yesterday afternoon in the Cowboys game. With the two backs pushing, it’s damn near unstoppable even though the D knows it’s coming. I think you’ll see some college teams start to go to this.

It's maddening, but you see it every week in CFB.

Bama-Ole Miss, Bama blocks a punt and it goes out on the OM 1 yard line. Bama has the biggest O-Line in CFB, and a 240 pound QB. So naturally go in shotgun from the 1, center airmails the snap on 1st down, and they eventually settle for a FG

Makes no damn sense at all

Just bring in Nuss to do it if JD can't. He already did it vs. Grambling.

Youtube 6:45 or so mark if it doesn't go straight there

This is true that they have run it and also kneel from under center so the idea that you wouldn't do it in a crucial situation is nonsense because they already do it in crucial situations when the kneel in one score games.

Daniels can't make the read on a read option correctly when he's 5 yards back

He hands off when the read is tackling the back and he keeps when they're playing him

I'm guessing they don't want him trying to make reads while moving his feet on any play action, and any direct snaps would be too predictable to be effective.

I hate it too, but it must be related to Daniels' abilities

There are no reads on a QB sneak

JJ watt said it's impossible to defend and every offense should run that play when the need a yard or less.

Speaking of the one in that game, Saban just said this

“ I agree, there's a time when it's 1st-and-1 at the one: why do you need to be in the gun?"

I don't think it gets worse than watching the Panthers subbing out their #1 pick Young for Andy Dalton on 4th downs because they don't think Young can take a snap under center.

Or you could hand it off, run a play action with or without a bootleg...

The sport that Saban coaches and asking the same question?

I’ll bet you Bama does it next time

I would bet every cent I own that we score a TD against FSU if we handed it off under center four times or did four QB sneaks or a combination of those two.

Exactly. Insert 4 new plays, dive left, dive right, play action dive, QB sneak. Practice them each two days a week for 10 minutes. Do that and you improve your red zone, 3rd & 4th down efficiency by 20%
