We also played them in Omaha, they have been a few times. They went 5 times in the 80s.

For the casual fan the "name" probably creates more interest than the quality of the team. For instance, playing Michigan would probably create more interest than playing someone like UTSA...even if UTSA may be a better team.

It would. But I think with 2 NCs in 4 years Johnson has earned the benefit of the doubt from the fanbase and they are fine with a "weak" non-conf. schedule knowing they have a HC capable of winning championships.

Need wins for national seeding.

SEC is better top to bottom than they were then.

Attendance at home is high.

Get players reps early in year and build confidence.
