Nope. One thing that they had that he wont is an experienced OL

Another thing they had that he wont is elite receivers. Anderson may turn into a boss, but there isn't a current guy on the roster or that i think will go in the portal that would be first round level. At least not now.

He does not have Daniels' legs to compensate either, so he won't sniff 5k yards or 40 TDs. Daniels had 5k yards and 50 TDs in essentially 11 games. He didn't play the 2nd half vs Grambling nor did he play the 2nd half vs Army. Sat out the 4th vs Auburn too IIRC.

I'll be happy with 270 yards per game and a 5 to 1 TD to int ratio. 13 games 3500 pass yards 35 TDs to 7 ints. He doesn't have to be 10 to 1 like Burrow and Daniels, just half of that efficency would be great. Also he HAS TO get good at the deep ball. Right now it's trash.

If we can get him to around 30 passes a game and make it a point of emphasis to have a strong run game (we'll have a ton of house call RBs), i think that is way better for him and for our offense and defense.

There is a chance. Most people will say no. He’s as int prine as JD was “not throwing it all” prone. I was always one to give JD year 2. I think nuss will be much better with a year of competition under his belt, IF we can assemble an O line and have a run game. Not many qb’s are going to be successful having to shoulder the load almost very game. Yes his decision making must improve. But if JD can go from Uber conservative to gun slinger dropping dimes I think Nuss can make a big leap next year. Hopefully he’s fully healthy.
like i said, he can make a leap, but he is limited in supporting cast, and his own physical talent.

Possibly. But where are you going to sign two or three first round draftee Receivers?.

Sure he can! However, you will not find me on that bandwagon anytime soon. He has a lot to learn about his own actions that dont extend drives.

And , totally afraid of any contact at all .
Other than his turnover thing, this is where he falls back from them by the widest margin. Those guys would run and take hits. Im not saying Nuss isn't tough, but he damn sure isn't fearless like they are. He backpedals immediately once he sees pressure.

This board was of the opinion that Burrow was merely serviceable until the TAMU game in 2018. This place thought Nuss should take the starting job from Daniels after the FSU game lat year.
Burrow was terrible unitl the last 4 games of the season. Watching the games and seeing the numbers prove that without a doubt. People hated Daniels because they wanted so bad for Nuss to be the QB. See this place had a huge disdain for dual threats and some still do. "I don’t want my QB to run", is the stupidest thing uttered by most. You don't want another threat in the offense?

Even if he plays better he’s going to have no protection and minimal weapons…..we are gonna be bad next year.

So you have forgotten the pick six vs Florida in his first season starting at LSU. That eliminated our chance of a victory. It wasn't until Brady was hired that Burrow became the awesome Burrow.

It wasn't until Daniels was into his third game in his fifth year as a starter, that Daniels became the Awesome Daniels. His fumbles in his first season at LSU were a problem.

It will be interesting to compare stats, and QB ratings, after each player's first year as a starter.

Probably not. He's not nearly as mobile as either of the two and is more reckless in his decision making.

They both had two first round nfl receivers that are currently at the top of the nfl ladder.

Will Nuss have one receiver on their level? No

Wrong. They hated Daniels b/c he was scared to death to take chances and throw it down field.

When he started taking chances, that went away and he took off.

I think he can make a jump. However, the other two showed more consistency and potential in year one.

If we had run the spread with Burrow in 18 we might have made a run.

Exactly people are stupid, Daniels had an advantage over both Burrow and Nuss because he had previously started multiple seasons for another team.

Nope. He’s the arm but he’s slow as shite. Doesn’t work in today’s game. He can win us 8-9 games if that’s what you want.

The NFL overvalues QBs so how do we know he won’t leave? They had a poster on here saying Nuss is playing through concussions. If that’s the case he might want to leave earlier as well.

It's telling that the biggest cheer for Nuss all season long was when he scrambled for 14 yards, on a 3rd-and-13 play inside his own 10 yard line vs Ole Miss

He can do what Burrow did, if he starts to run when needed. We also need to bring in an elite receiver or two. Remember, Burrow was great, but he had superstar WRs and a damn good running back and good OL. Nuss has not had that same supporting cast. JD also had elite recs that were running wide open down the field many times. We haven't had that this year, obviously.

He can be very good if he adds the running game to his game....like VERY GOOD. He will likely be a pre-season top 5 heisman QB if he comes back.
