Can LSU expose Florida State's Greatest Weakness?

With the game rapidly approaching, I started digging into to some games and stats for the Seminoles last year. While FSU's defensive statistics were strong overall, there is an obvious weakness - rushing defense.Florida State allowed 161.7 yards rushing on average to their opponents in 2022 which had them at 75th in the country.
Although FSU arguably played their best ball toward the end of the season, the weakness was perhaps as glaring as ever in the bowl game against a 6-7 Oklahoma team. The Sooners lost 32-35, but their running backs had a field day with over 250 yards rushing. They had not one but two 100-yard rushers who combined for 208 yards on 42 carries.
Notwithstanding, LSU running backs struggled in the opener last season. The squad only had 13 carries for 39 yards. However, Daniels rushed 114 yards on 16 carries.
This year, Florida State returns a ton on defense, so it will be interesting to see if they shore up their run defense. So, can LSU expose this weakness? Time will tell, as no one in the LSU RB room is the clear number one guy. It will be interesting to see what Logan Diggs can do. But it seems pretty obvious that the LSU game plan should, in part, seek to expose this weakness. Here's to hoping one (or more) of the LSU RBs has a big game on September 3rd.

Can you post the splits by game?

Good news is we could field a starting offense made up of just runningbacks.

how many rushing yds outside of JD did we pick up last year vs FSU. couldn't have been over 50

I think y'all definitely expose it.

Couple of issues last year was that LSU was breaking in two brand new tackles and we had Dellinger out of position at C
Didn't Emery miss the first game of the season?
Plus LSU fell behind and had to abandon the run somewhat in order to get back into the game.
The offense had no cohesion and didn't get anything going until they started playing hurry up, two minute drill.
Take away the LSU special teams mistakes and overall better continuity on offense and LSU wins that game easily.

He stated in his post that other than Daniels, RB’s had 13 attempts for 39 yards. Remember we were playing with two true freshman at the tackles, so the line should be better because of experience alone, and they’re talented too, so hopefully they put up some decent numbers. Also, we were behind most of the game, so at some point they began to pass for clock management. I’m looking forward to a hard fought good game.

Unfortunately you can’t take those things away.

I hate to burst your bubble, I wouldn’t put much stock in a meaningless bowl game.

I think we will run on them decently this year.
Daniels gashed them pretty bad. And although I hate to make excuses for anything, we weren't that far behind, but we could never get close with time of possession. They had tons of long, time-consuming drives, and we gave up 2 possessions on top of that with the punt muffs.
I think this year, there will be an emphasis on controlling the game better. Get the ball and impose our will on offense. I think we have a couple battering rams that could do well, and a lot better O Line this time around. I also think there will be a point to pay back that edge rusher that hurt us so bad.

As I think fsu wants to throw it all over the field and our known early season weakness seems I to be the secondary I think running it down their throats is good for yards and the clock.

Expecting a good rushing attack this season

I think if we can eliminate the special teams miscues, we’re already ahead of the eight ball. You take away those miscues last year, we win by 10-14 points. Thing is they’ve gotten better, but so have we. It’s going to be a war imo

If we don’t don’t Florida state we are in a world of hurt.
With a that said. We will win

Thats a lot of carriers. I would not expect us to run the ball 40 times in the game. We would probably be more around 30 rushing attempts split up between the running backs and Daniels. Probably would expect us to be anywhere between 130-160 yards rushing on those 30 attempts depending on how many explosive runs (rushes over 10 yards) we have.
