In the pocket? I’m not sure if the main problem is on the wr corp or the routes called, but JD5 never seemed to know where to go with the ball yesterday.

5 of the 7 sacks could have been avoided by throwing the ball away. All coverage sacks.

It was a coaching and team effort that lead to a bad day on offense.

And, apparently, the flu.

Definitely.

Yesterday was the definition of a trap game.

That was not the Daniels we witnessed all year (turnovers) and honestly, he was due for a bad game.

He played lights out for many games.

That’s gotta be the coldest/earliest game he’s ever played in. He’ll do better under the lights and in the dome.

Also could’ve used an assist from denbrock yesterday

Both.

On the routes... we're guessing or asking WRs to do too much. There's a reason they don't seem to get seperation consistently. Our routes are pre-planned and not based on leverage and/or alignment of the defense. We have guys breaking into coverage, not space. We have routes leaning on defense leverage, not using that against them. Don't know if it is all Denbrock or JD, probably some of both. But JD still has too much trouble finding the WRs too slow- so if we go into read-based routes it could be a disaster.

Our offensive limit is JD recognizing blitzs and throwing out of them instead of doing his pre-programmed progressions. If we're guessing on the routes, JD is at Denbrock's mercy on those guesses.

Or do we see JD communicating with the sideline and then with the WRs? I don't see him ever communicating with the WRs.

He has been bad about that from the jump. I think he always feels he'll be able to escape. He often does but Arky seemed to collapse the pocket just right to make that impossible or nearly so.

I think knowing when to throw the ball away may be his next big step.

If he can bounce back from not the too pretty performances from earlier this year, he’ll be fine. Already has shown he can bounce back.

JD from California probably the coldest weather he's ever played in. Add in the flu and the game after Bama. UAB is a good get right game to get back comfortable.

I think he was sick. Looked a half step slower on his runs.

He was not moving up in the pocket at all and the game plan sucked.

He will be ok and Brian Kelly will push Denbrock to be better.

The statistic of Arky leading the SEC in sacks is not being talked about enough, we was heavily impacted by that as well.

Actually that’s the same guy that got us beat 40-13.
Playing scared won’t help us beat Georgia. We need Jayden 2 for that.
Those are two different QBs
