I imagine that sounded clever in your head. I'd also be a little surprised to find out you can find your way to tigerdroppings without help.

He played a lot last year because he had to serve to some degree as a de facto TE. LSU obviously doesn't feel they need him in that role now. His injuries set him back in what most would probably agree is the deepest position group on the team. That doesn't mean he's a bad player. It just that there are several other good players who also warrant snaps. Can anyone say Nabers, Boutte, Jenkins, Thomas, even Lacy, have done anything recently to warrant having their roles reduced? In other words, is there any WR on the team right now who you can definitively say Bech should be playing ahead of? I don't think so.

Correct, he is sort of tweener and last year LSU was in 80% or more of the time in 4 or 5 WR sets. So he was used as a H-Back/Slot TE lining up and matched up with LB's and Safety's last year.

LSU has a true TE this year.

I don't think it's a funk or a slump. I just think when you have a WR room as talented and deep as this one some guys will be left out.

Some people can play the best when the lights are on, and some people crumble like a cookie.

know the young man’s father, Marty. Marty tells me Jack hasn’t been the same since the muffed punts. All he thinks about is why it’s called a muff. He reflects on those mistakes every day all day and cannot recall a single pube on the ball or the ball smelling like fish or even the ball being moist and aromatic. It’s driving the yound man insane. I’m told he has daily sessions with a gynecologist trying to learn every muff detail in hopes of solving the conundrum. Until then he is useless

Sounds like the young man needs to douche his balls.

I agree, Nabers, Boutte and Thomas are WR 1, 2, and 3. But LSU runs a base 11 personnel offense and is running some 4 WR sets. Bech is good enough to be in the rotation as the 3rd/4th WR in those sets.

5 WR are going to get at least 10-15 snaps a game with LSU running it seems about 72/73 plays a game. Bech got at least that in the Bama game and watching the replay now twice, he blocked really well, as did all the WR per PFF.

Bech is just not as talented as our other WRs. He’s not as fast or as quick as the guys in front of him. He does have value in the slot position, but he’s not gonna play in front of Boutte or Nabers. As others have said, he’s a tweener. Not big enough for Tight End and not athletic enough for WR. I do think he finds a role on the team in future years when the depth is not as great, but for this year he’s the odd man out.

He's very dangerous to opponents but I'm not sure if it's doghouse or injury holding him back. Seems like he went downhill after his muffed punts.

I just think he's in the middle or bottom of the list as far as ability vs some of the dudes we have that are playing in front of him.

He was one of the best players on a 5-5 team with a bottom-tier quarterback situation and lousy coaching.

He is not one of the best players on this year's team.

I can see a scenario where the depth chart thins in the years to come, he gets reunited with his HS QB, and has a strong senior year.

I don't know.

Can our 6th best LB get out of HIS funk?

And what is it about Bech that makes him, our 6th best WR, of such concern to you?

Bech is way more talented than Trey Quinn. The only comparison is their skin tone, which is why Quinn gets brought up on every Jack Bech thread.

Keep telling yourself that, but he’s been the #4 wr all year long. The only thing his injury (& performance) did was make him lose his job as returner.
