I know the young man’s father, Marty. Marty tells me Jack hasn’t been the same since the muffed punts. All he thinks about is why it’s called a muff. He reflects on those mistakes every day all day and cannot recall a single pube on the ball or the ball smelling like fish or even the ball being moist and aromatic. It’s driving the yound man insane. I’m told he has daily sessions with a gynecologist trying to learn every muff detail in hopes of solving the conundrum. Until then he is useless
well good try I guess

He's solid...but who would you take off the field in lieu of Bech?

Boutte?
Thomas?
Jenkins?
Nabors?
Mason Smith?

No to all

Honestly he's better than he's given credit in here it seems. I know he's had a bad year but I definitely remember him being a catalyst several times last year. Great hands, got open. Nice YAC. There is talent at receiver. I do believe the injury must have been a bigger deal. I have zero inside knowledge. I'm sure the punt issues did a number on him but that's separate from his ability as a receiver. He did play last week some and had key blocks. I'd be willing to bet barring another injury set back next year we see more of what we saw last year. The great part is each game a different receiver can be the man of the game including our TE now.

This is simple. There are other players getting the ball. We have amazing players at LSU. The injury of course did not help things at the time in the season when our coaching staff was getting to know our players strengths and weaknesses. I always thought putting him in to return pints was crazy. Almost like they were listening to the fan base at the time to get him the ball more. It comes down to who JD trusts more. He is a beast of a physical specimen but not even the biggest badass we have. He gets to fired up at times but will learn from that.

I’ll bite on to the bait. And if you’re 93 you should understand it better than I. Muffed is slang started in the 1840s for to bungle, or perform badly or clumsily.

I can tell you for one, I’m not giving up on the kid. He’s all tiger. Do y’all forget about some of the outstanding plays he made last year? If he sticks it out, he will find his way back to making plays. Just my personal opinion.

I agree. He’s a lot more talented and athletic than a lot of people on here are giving him credit for. It’s kinda weird how he’s getting shite on. I think it’s 2 things: 1) he’s behind 4 guys that are future NFL starters, and 2) those injuries have really slowed him down. The back in-season, but the shin splints made him miss all fall. And that’s a big deal when trying to learn a new offense, but more importantly, developing that rapport with a new QB.

We saw how long it took Daniels to develop that trust with the guys who’ve been there all fall and in-season. Bech just hasn’t had a chance to get those reps with JD. He’ll never be the #1–or likely even the #2(hell, maybe even the #3)—but with a healthy off-season to develop that chemistry with the QB, he’ll get a lot more targets and be a lot more productive next year. But his blocking already is valuable, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t get more involved this year moving forward. If for no other reason than to break tendencies.

Friend that may well be true but most of my life muff has referred to the pubic hair of a woman. Indeed I venture that is the commonly understood meaning today. Hence my confusion and concern.

And what is it about Bech that makes him, our 6th best WR, of such concern to you?

I think it’s the muff. It has us all concerned. And confused.

What?? Bech is solid... but he's not as good as this board hype him up to be.
