He's very dangerous to opponents but I'm not sure if it's doghouse or injury holding him back. Seems like he went downhill after his muffed punts.

A lot of talent around/in front of him and he was legitimately injured.

I just want to clarify that vs a “funk”.

Eta. He did play vs Alabama. I saw him on a block. That’s good.

I know the young man’s father, Marty. Marty tells me Jack hasn’t been the same since the muffed punts. All he thinks about is why it’s called a muff. He reflects on those mistakes every day all day and cannot recall a single pube on the ball or the ball smelling like fish or even the ball being moist and aromatic. It’s driving the yound man insane. I’m told he has daily sessions with a gynecologist trying to learn every muff detail in hopes of solving the conundrum. Until then he is useless.

I believe he’s playing behind Boutee. Doesn’t see the field much.

How about worrying about whether the team just plays well.

I think he is fine at WR, but he got hurt and fell behind. He muffed a few kicks, one cost LSU big time vs. TENN.

He needs to work his way back like anyone else.

I will say he did get significant reps vs. Bama the other night and while he did not get targeted, he blocked his rear end off vs. Bama. So just keep grinding and work in the off season get quicker and stronger.

He will have a chance to be, after Nabers and Thomas, WR3 along with Lacey who has another year. So those 4 guys will be the top 4 WR going into 2023, Hilton if he can stay healthy can be another guy that gets significant reps next year

Different players, skill sets, etc but this feels like it could evolve into Trey Quinn area on this board. Just like with Quinn, there is a TON of competition and like it or not he had some bad miscues on the field. It will play out how it plays out and I trust THIS staff to make the right decisions. I believe Bech has way more upside, but its funny how this board singles in on certain kids sometimes...Russell Shephard also comes to mind.

Sometimes the dreaded Sophomore Slump is a real thing.

He’ll shake it off in due time.

He is getting professional help from the gyno. Don’t get down on the guy. He is fighting through a tough sitch. I’m 93 and still don’t understand the term muffed punt

Bech was a nice story last year. But I think he may be a little behind talent wise with what we have now.

Son i got muffed for the first time in high school. Nearly suffocated and found lady pubes on my clothes for days. That’s why I’m confused by the term muffed punt. It just doesn’t add up. There is literally nothing muffish about missing playing a punt. It’s also a very sexual way to describe anything on TV. What if we said Gisele Bundenhiemen muffed her marriage? Or rosanne Barr muffed the national anthem? Not very polite is it?

Honestly, at some point we have to stop placing big expectations on him. He is not some secret weapon or some savior or any of that. He has not been good at all this season outside of a nice block here or there.

He is not better than Nabers, Thomas, Boutte, Jenkins, or hell even Lacey at this point.

The idea of Jack Bech being some potential all world receiver is a bit far fetched given his production since the Texas A&M game last season.

He has 11 catches for 92 yards and a TD the last 9 games of his career including muff punts and kickoffs.

I'm sorry but the kid has not been good this year and he would probably be the first to say it. Maybe he can step up next year but the evidence says his "slump" isn't ending any time soon.

He played a lot last year because he had to serve to some degree as a de facto TE. LSU obviously doesn't feel they need him in that role now. His injuries set him back in what most would probably agree is the deepest position group on the team. That doesn't mean he's a bad player. It just that there are several other good players who also warrant snaps. Can anyone say Nabers, Boutte, Jenkins, Thomas, even Lacy, have done anything recently to warrant having their roles reduced? In other words, is there any WR on the team right now who you can definitively say Bech should be playing ahead of? I don't think so.
