Can anyone provide roster room clarification?

Would these new players, if the courts allow them to join, take roster spots from current players or is there a "grandfathered" rule that lets us go over 105?

And what are our current roster numbers looking like?

I've seen all sorts of explanations here that contradict each other.

No disrespect to our walkons but I’m sure we have no issue moving someone like Jake Ibieta or Joseph Ebun or Cayden Jones to some type of “inactive/IR” or “practice squad” role that doesn’t count against the 105

We currently have 111 shown on online roster… that includes around 12 walkons (idk if some of them contribute on ST or not)

Yes, and it contradicts what I had read here that no one would lose their roster spots because of some grandfathering rule or something.

It is plausible that previous walkons don’t count against our 105

UPDATE: Despite the 105-player roster limit going into effect in July 2025 and #LSU being at 115 players (after the Junior Tuihalamaka, Dae’Quan Wright, and Zxavian Harris signings) — the Tigers don’t need to cut anybody.

Walk ons and grad players who were signed with the school prior to the July 2025 ruling, counting walk ons and grad players into the 105-limit, are grandfathered in until they’re no longer on the team.

Meaning LSU is actually at 104 players, even after the three new additions, leaving one roster spot still open despite having 115 rostered players.

Lane Kiffin and co. may not be done adding…

That is what I was thinking

As I understand it, we have enough open spots with the Grandfathered players to add Junior Tuihalamaka(who appears to be in regardless), Dae'Quan Wright, and Zxavian Harris, as well as Jack Pyburn if he returns, and still have 1 open spot.

My understanding was that we could fill 5 spots without moving anyone off the roster. I am not sure if that is exactly right, but I know that Lane has said we are not planning to cut anyone, walk-on or not.

Yep but Lane probably isn't a good enough source either. Since half the board seems to think he doesn't have a clue what he is doing.
