I’ll defend him . Making Lesbian Dance Therapy mandatory for all incoming freshman was a master stroke. And destroying the male portion of The Greek System struck a blow to the racistsexisthomophobic male patriarchy. Making LSU a national laughing stock was just a bonus.

What good thing has he done since he was hired? Why do I get angry every time i read something from him? Does he actually raise money?
He is really good at spending money on LSU shaped lazy rivers, and flat screen televisions while simultaneously burning whole departments down and jacking up tuition. This is all added in with the fun fact that he Athletic Department donates millions a year to the school. One of the only schools in the nation if not the only school that does so.

F King is a mouthpiece for he BOS. People who are upset with him have their ire misplaced. He was hired by the BOS and he does their bidding, why people don't understand that confounds me. He can't take a crap without their approval.
Is it your argument that he should be above scrutiny because he has no power? I don't think so.

And don’t just tell me he raises a lot of money. Lots of people can do that.
I hope he gets fired for halting the privately funded new Nutrition Center alone. That pissed me off. TAF did a great job of fundraising for it (including me) and he halted over the whole "optics" thing.
frick their optics. They want optics I can send them pictures of my fricking taint.

Tbh I’m pretty detached from any LSU related stuff aside from athletics. He might do good things for the school that most of us who aren’t students wouldn’t know about
At some places, this may be the case. It doesn’t work like that at LSU.
The fundraising and pride in the university comes directly through the athletic programs. If you kill them off slowly, the school will decline as well. The two are way more intertwined than just having something to cheer about on weekends.

I have a question, what has he done wrong or that’s bad?

Answer: is Jimbo Fisher coaching football in Baton Rouge?

FKA personally has lost institutional control of LSU.......Vet School scandal with $, Greek hazing deaths, Miles/Jimbo/Herman debacle, major drop in endowments, etc..

I think most of this board's problem with FKing begins in what he did with the whole Miles thing when he basically went to Alleva when he was trying to get Jimbo and told Alleva to stop because Alleva had screwed the pooch on it and was embarrassing the school . In that capacity, he was doing the old BOS's bidding. Then most on this board did not like how he took JBE's side on the tax issue when JBE first got in because LSU football was threatened. Neither of these actions were acceptable to many of the posters. But in terms of running the university, day to day, most people in positions to actually know, think Alexander does a pretty good job overall.
Alexander's job is not necessarily fundraising....that task belongs to the LSU Foundation and Bryan Benchoff is the President and CEO of that arm and he does a decent job at that.

Agree that many "in the know" think F. KIng does a good job running the school, if not the system, day to day. However, from infrastructure to endowment to academics the school is an 'also ran". To escape this condition will take a lot of money and a leader capable to thinking big and capturing the politicos with his thinking. F. King is not that person, IMO.
I also believe that "fundraising" in every sense of that word is indispensable to the job.

You're bitching because as a member of the chattering class you don't like how he handles the issues pertaining to athletics. In that capacity - athletics, He is truly a mouthpiece.
personally, I don't have a beef with how he handled the Miles situation or the Wade situation. Actually in the Wade situation, he has done what any boss would have done....actually the fact that Wade is still just on suspension shows restraint, because if I were him and Wade had blown off his superior like did.and he did blow off Alleva, he would be gone, fired and trashed....I really don't care that his lawyer told him not to talk
He's not above scrutiny, Objectively I don't see where Alexander has done a bad job....he just doesn't do what you think he should do

Good luck getting Louisiana politicos to spend taxpayer money on LSU beyond what is being spent now....in the end, Louisiana politicians, and Louisianians in general, could not care less about most things that have to do with education.
That being said, from an infrastructure and facility standpoint, LSU has a lot of things in the works. Student housing, for example, from what I understand is about to get a major overhaul. Also there is a lot of planned construction getting ready to go in other areas. As an annual contributor I have no complaints about what my money is being used for or how it is being used
