Probably got a promise from a team that they'll take him in the first round

Not coming back to LSU.

It makes sense, he's not someone who will gain much from something like the combine so why risk it.

Lot of kids didn’t participate.

Did read that Smart had a nice showing yesterday, though.

He probably doesn't have anything to gain from the combine.
he's not going to wow anybody with this athleticism. Everyone knows who he is.

He probably got a promise from a team and was good with that.

I'd guess it's an injury.

firstly, promises don't mean a thing. Injuries to current players, trades, etc. can make a team completely rethink their draft.

Secondly, moving up 5 spots from the bottom of the first round is worth about $1 million. Moving up is obviously worth even more the higher you go in the first round.

So it's definitely worth attending the combine, if you think you can move up.

He probably didn’t get the green light to shoot whenever and wherever he wanted too from the rest of the guys on the team.

This.

The NBA combine is not nearly as important or covered in depth as the NFL combine. And it is not all that uncommon to see potential first round guys withdraw (or not even attend). Relative to LSU this news MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Good. He can go be 10 for 26, not pass the ball, and take forced shots somewhere else.

you'll get blasted, but your point is legitimate.

Among the top 100 scorers last year, Cam had one of the very worst FG%, both overall and 3-point.

He also has a quirk in his game - he pulls up and shoots jumpers when going to his left (easier to fade away), and goes to the rack when going to his right (harder to shoot a jumper, requires more elevation and body rotation).

NBA defenders will be bigger, stronger, faster, and will pick up on this.

I like Cam, but will be very curious to see how this all turns out over the next few years.

Well hes a unanimous top 20 prospect so hes done pretty good for himself.

The dudes game is made for the nba .I think he will be better than he was in college and especially efficiency wise.

He can be a volume scorer from day 1 and wont have to carry the team. He really had to score 25 a game for us to win

I blame some of it on will wade. He gave him too much of a green light.

I see lester mr. Cam thomas is a late 2nd rounder earl has made an appearance.
