He's not getting the renovations that would make the UT ballpark even middle-tier in the SEC.
UT can't pay him a what we can.
UT will lose most of their roster next year.
Delusional UT fans will demand Omaha or Bust for him.
He doesn't have any family or ties to Tennessee, and he's spent more time in this region of the country. Plus, BR >>>>>>>> Knoxville
He needs to take the damn job before he screws himself out of any possible future. Tired of Sexton telling him to hold out.

I want McDonnell. Bad.
I really have no idea but if I had to guess based on what I know about Scott Woodward's history and the timing, I think I'm going to have to go with Godwin.
In a vacuum, that would be a phenomenal hire. With McDonnell floating out there, it's a terrible hire.

yeah i think the number was 35 million in renovations. i don't know what could be added on to what they have now, or if they'd have to tear it all down. they can get to the middle with 35 mil if they can add on, but it'll still be bad if they have to tear down the current place.
i talked about this with someone else here, Tennessee is in a bad spot. Fans are fed up with the AD, and they're rabid. If they lose Vitello, then there will be a revolt like Kiffin's move to USC brought. So I think they'll pay more than what we're willing to admit.. which is why i think Tony is playing the waiting game.

TV's agent is a genius to be sure.
The other factor about UT's ballpark is lack of available space. Even if they had the money for it, where are they going to put it? Their campus is on a river and surrounded by railroad tracks on a mountain.
No way they have the cash or logistics to give Vitello what LSU already has. He wants upgrades, I'm sure Woodward will find a way for him to get them here.

I think it will be Godwin, but I'm still holding out hope that it'll be McDonnell. (Though I would of course be happy with Godwin)
