Calibrate your expectations

LSU is only a 4 point favorite, yet no one here seems to think the game will even be close. No one seems concerned and the general consensus here is that we win by 14+.
However, if we squeeze out a 27-23 win this place will go into complete meltdown. The same people saying we're going undefeated now will be calling for Coach O's head after the first game.
There's a reason why the spread is what it is. I'm not saying we lose; I'm saying we're playing a talented team and we have some question marks. So don't come crying on the board with your ovaries in a knot next Saturday night if we don't win by 30.

Unless the defense is as bad as last year, this game shouldn't be close. It is what it is.

Yea quit being so optimistic. Life is much better when you go through it negatively. If you can’t be positive before they even play one game then what is the point of even being a fan?

Oregon and Miami were ~4 point favorites in previous season openers, yet we dismantled both.
LSU performs very well in neutral site season openers against Power 5 foes. Especially given all the returning talent along with a strong desire for the team to rectify what happened last year.

we didn't exactly handle Texas in 2019, offense subsidized the defense until they could figure it out, which they ultimately did big time, entire team improved from start to finish

No, I'm optimistic for the season as well. It's okay to be excited for the team. I'm referring more to the people that melt like a preteen girl after we win a close game. The same people that are optimistic now are emotional head cases 30 minutes later.
