I have been looking around. Can anybody find who will take the bump for South Carolina?

Honestly I think they need to treat this game as win at all costs. We definitely haven't punched our ticket for sure yet, but a win today I think does that..so it wouldnt matter so much what happens after today if we win, just that we get the win today and not finish 1-2.

I like giving it Gilbert, but if he shows any early signs of not having it, gotta have the short hook, cant get in a 4-0 type hole early on.

The Hoover Met is where Caleb pitched as a high schooler.

hope he has a short leash. I just don't think Caleb is 100% healthy and don't think he has been all season. He's lost at least 5 mph on his fastball and movement on his breaking balls since last year. That doesn't just happen without mitigating factors. I really feel bad for him because, by all accounts, he's a great kid and hard worker.

Caleb owns the Hoover Met. He’s going 8 today.

I agree, he needs to have a short leash. Caleb is from Hoover and has pitched well historically in this tournament. We need him to show up today.

I'm rooting for the kid, he deserves a good outing. Hell the baseball gods owe him one.

Got to have someone in the pen ready to start warming at first pitch. Gilbert either on point or way off. Can't get down 4-0 to start the game then take him out.

I just hope he has his normal motion and is throwing strikes.

I could see Gilbert having a good outing, using the size of the ballpark to his advantage, and getting us deep into this game.

I could also see him melting down on the mound and not getting out of the 2nd inning.

From my observations, it's hard to rely on Gilbert. He has regressed and he melts when faced with adversity.

So............

But we have no choice, we have had more injuries than a team oughta..........not sure why!!

Gilbert hasn’t missed many bats this season. I would have beck and Fontenot in the pen to start the game.

I was struggling to think of an alternative. Who were you expecting?

You gotta get through 9.

Those two are probably penciled in for 4-5 innings already. If LSU goes to one of them early, there really isn't a series of pitchers we can throw to get to Peterson that has had enough success to make me think we could be successful.
