The Klein love is overblown. It’s his first year there, and it’s been great. I’d like to see how they finish the year, and if he’s able to keep this success next year. I have my doubts.

I doubt he leaves right now, but coaches only have so many opportunities to make upward moves. In a world of parity, even consistently very good coaches like Kirby and Cignetti will have bad losses and down years, so that stock can’t stay up forever.
1- UK isn’t Indiana. They haven’t fallen on real hard times in hoops and they will ALWAYS be a basketball school first. That’s why Bear Bryant left them many years ago. It’s still true today.
2- if any form of the bill in Congress passes and there are real salary caps imposed that can be enforced, UK will slide right back to where they’ve always been. Schools like Texas will be able to recruit traditionally and frankly, cheat like the old days and get away with it, while smaller programs won’t.

They remind me a lot of Auburn 2013 the way they are winning. They aren’t blowing anyone out and have been the benefit of a ton of breaks. Even if you get those breaks for most of a season, that doesn’t last and the odds end up evening out at some point.

“Stein is a class act. His hands were tied and he did what any of us would have done.”
These dildos will have a 180 spin from what they did to Lane.
But that’s life. Who cares.

Yes, buyer beware of a short pop hype coach. For the record, I am a believer, but I also believed in Tom Herman.
Put it this way, LSU with one more loss is much closer to being undefeated right now than 1-loss Kentucky. 1-loss Kentucky is closer to being 4 loss Kentucky than they are to being undefeated. They are very fortunate not to have lost against USC, LSU and OU - they're playing with a horseshoe up their arse with all the turnovers.

What if hunt palmer never came back and we were stuck with these bozos filling in for him? Baton Rouge sports radio…

If that were the case and another coach left one SEC school for another SEC, especially if Kentucky keeps winning, makes it to SECCG amd maybe even CFP...would there be anywhere near as much hatred against him as we saw with Lane?
no
But, I don't think Stein would do that to his alma mater. And, frankly, while UT would need a new coach, from a program perspective, it is much healthier than LSU's program was under Kelly.
I think both parties would work with each other much better than Ole Miss was willing to work with LSU.

Why couldn’t you just play along instead of acting like you’re smarter than everyone else. OP clearly framed this as a hypothetical

Ah yes, another post about everyone hating LSU about a hypothetical situation that hasn’t happened yet
