Usually not a problem to get tickets, even for big games there are going to be some available. Watch out for the ticket maggots, I mean scalpers. They have multiplied wildly in the last 10 years. Laugh at them when they try to sell you tickets at face value but tell you you have to buy an LSU hat from them for $200 bucks as a condition of the sale. It pisses them off. Even better do what I and a buddy of mine did back in 06. We went with our boys, both in HS a the time, to the Alabama game. 2 of these yuppy puppies came up to us with pretty good tickets and the old hat for 200 pitch. My buddy was a LA state trooper(now retired). He told those 2 clowns that they could either give us the tickets we had paid them for or present themselves for arrest Monday morning at the courthouse for scalping. You should have heard the wailing from those two pissants. It was, as they say, priceless. We laughed, tickets in hand all the way into the stadium.

I have been buying outside the stadium for 20 years and never had a problem. Only once was I not able to buy a ticket, Ark. 2007. Walked around holding up a hundred dollar bill and got no takers. Went back to the tailgate and watched on TV. Other than that, I have always found lower bowl tickets and never paid face. Gotta be calm though. I make my wife sit under a tree by PMAC so she won't complain. I just buy the tickets and pick her up on the way in the stadium. It is just easier.

The best place I've found is right outside the West side. The closer you get to the stadium, the better, the closer you get to game time the better.

I've also had good luck around the Indian Mounds.

Another reason I prefer it this way is that I get to sit in areas all over the stadium, upper decks, South end zone, gold seats, visitors section, even the student section. When I had season tickets, I came to despise the peeople who sat around me at every single game. I guess I just don't agree with teaching your child how to boo the players and yell obscenities at the refs.

what do you need to watch out for as far as scammers go?

avoid the guys riding around on bikes whereing LSU stuff and the ones wearing non LSU stuff.

I have had success when walking around peoples tailgates holding my fingers up for how many tickets i need. Most of the time someone will approach you who doesn't have his tickets in the air, because they wanna sell to someone who truely wants to go to the game...

I've been buying tickets outside Tiger Stadium since 1999, never had a problem getting tickets as well. I can count on one hand how many times I've actually had tickets in hand before getting on campus. Another thing to bring is a map of the stadium. I bring one everytime just incase they try and tell me these tickets are on the 50, then they're in the west upper deck. Most people are honest where the seat is, but there's always that dickhead trying to rip you off!

The last 3 games ive gotten tickets to outside the stadium were the VT game in 07 for 60$, Florida 07 for 120$, and florida last year for 150$...

just get there early and walk around with your eyes peeled and fingers up. the closer to kickoff, the lower the price

This is a good point. It's a little of the old fashing bickering over prices. My wife also tends to get impatient with that. I leared from my dad who could shop for a car for months and walk out of many dealerships till he found the deal he was looking for so I don't have a problem turning down people who I think want too much for their tickets. Wives get a little panicky though - I guess they want the security of knowing the tickets are in hand as game time starts to approach.

Also, three is an odd number which could make your job finding a bargin a little more difficult. But you should be able to do it.

No prob getting tix to moo st. Especially if we are 1-1!! But it is opening home game so don't wait til 30 mins before kickoff to get tix.

I bought tix 05 fla game and paid $60 for s endzone right next to fla fans. I thought it was a good buy.

I was a jerk though and told the seller that I was a cop and he was under arrest for scalping and to put his hands behind his back once the money changed hands. He looked at me like he was gonna die and then I told him I was just kidding and he almost killed me saying I gave him a heart attack. I shouldn't have done that but I can almost guarantee u that guy won't sell tix above FV.

it never crossed my mind to look out for counterfeits.

I have bought tickets outside Tiger Stadium for years. Even got 2 for last year's Florida game. Some games may be easier to buy now than 25 years ago given that TS now holds 92,000. Be patient and you'll usually find tickets. Good luck.

I'll be lucky to get to the game about 1 hr before gametime. I need 4 tickets preferably together. How likely is it that I'll be able to buy 4 tickets at the game???? I'll be making a 2 hr drive this Saturday from the Lake Charles area.

Having bought and sold tickets outside the stadium for many years now I will tell you may be able to find 4 together for this game but it will be much easier to find 2 sets of 2, possibly even in the same section if you look long engoug. The thing about looking for 4 together is you will probably have to pay a higher price for 4 together and you can't be picky about where the seats are located in the stadium because you better buy the first ones you find because you might not find someone else selling 4 together. Hope this helps.

For two tickets I see this happening but what do you think the odds of finding 4 in a row is?

Anyone that pays all those fees for season tickets is crazy. You can always get great seats outside the stadium.

Very rare. I've gotten many game tickets outside of the stadium but I don't usually try to get a large group together. Two together is about the best you can expect to do. The best thing to keep in mind is to be patient. A person walking in a gate will not be unloading a fake ticket, while a guy on a bike a quarter mile away might. I've even bought, sold and traded tickets if someone had better seats than I had already found.

It is also good to keep in mind that bottom feeding ticket buyers like us will have an easier time for a Tulane or UL game than a top 20 matchup. For the big games, if I can't get a ticket in advance I usually stay home.

I got laughed at by a group of guys once for paying face value. The seats were the best I had ever had, and I was willing to pay what was asked. It was well worth it.

Good. I wanted one ticket. It was easy. 2 are harder. It depends on the game. I would think WVA being on TV would be moderately easy. I paid less than face too for 10 yard line seat on EAST side.
