Never mind the tiger stuff. I think the best part of the interview was him talking about living in his childhood bedroom, with Star Wars curtains and posters, and having to ask his parents if he can go to the grocery, just like every other kid in quarantine today. Meanwhile he's got millions coming his way.

It was a really innocuous, general, albeit simplified, statement that he's opposed to animals in cages. I get it. I'm not a huge fan of zoos or generally of breeding these rare animals and keeping them in captivity. But Mike's situation is more complex. LSU does a service to these animals that are bred in captivity and would normally live in far, far worse conditions, by providing a world class habitat and on-call outstanding medical care.

I think everyone agrees that Mike would probably love to have a bigger place like 50 acres. So would I. Burrow has his own mind like everyone else. So what ?

so we are in agreement that caging wild animals sucks.

It's not ideal, but we're also cleaning up someone else's mess. It's not like LSU went and hunted this tiger down and threw him in a cage.

Most Tigers are very jealous of Mike that he doesn’t have to catch his food while being kicked in the face , fighting off other predatory animals to get a bite to eat. He can nap when he pleases in an air conditioned building in his pool or in the sun. Gets to see the doctor to ward off any kind of illness and a cage big enough to stretch his legs and to move around sufficiently to stay healthy.

The vet handling his care has said many times that a tiger like Mike, who has lived his whole life in captivity, would not know how to survive in the wilderness, specifically mentioning that he would not know how to hunt for foo

And why do you think they said this? Because they were programmed to. Thats what they were taught to do. You repeat what you are taught, but that doesn't make it a fact

Do you have any information to refute that notion?

This hilarious and ironic given we elected two Republicans who were either actors or reality TV stars. You are same morons who go ape shite when James Wood, Tim Allen, Scott Baio, Mike Leach, etc drop something hackneyed conservative turd in the punch bowl.

I was curious when this (issue, not interview) would come out. I think a lot of people missed it when Burrow was first recruited to LSU and he committed. He had stuff all over his Twitter feed about animal rights issues and things that most fans would not have liked to see regarding his stance on a situation like Mike.

A lot of that stuff ended up disappearing off the feed and he stopped retweeting and commenting on posts related to animal rights because I’m sure he realized how it would impact the school he was now playing for. But I figured it would end up coming back around eventually once he left.

Mike's vet being "programmed"?? He's actually pro active in making sure all is ok with all of Mike's treatment. He is the one keeping Mike from touring Tiger Stadium pre kickoff because it is not healthy for him. If he is programmed, it's all to the betterment of Mike. Where are your facts on this? Or is this just your opinion???
