An old billionaire getting horny might legitimately be the best thing to ever happen to LSU football. It’s at least up there with the arrival of Saban or Burrow.

This guy was coming to LSU? What's the story?
Brian Kelley was on that College Sports, Dusty and Danny, on Sirius. I know it's BK, but he's saying he recruited him for a few years, and even though he's a tremendous athlete and thrower, he's not a QB that's going to be able to sit in the pocket and read coverages. That's not his strength. But like what Les would do with practically every quarterback he brought in, they are trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Not that Underwood is without blame, but he's not set up for success at all.
Per BK.

Kiffin and Weis could coach this kid up. Portal bargain.

There’s zero doubt in my mind that Michigan's lack of development is the reason for this, not the kid.
It’s been this way for a while. Michigan is notorious for not developing qbs properly. They had Tom Brady, arguably one of, if not the best NFL qbs of all time, and all they did was develop him into a 6th round pick while rotating him and Drew Henson at qb his last season.

Didn't have the chest to play and succeed at LSU

One side of me rejoices that we dodged the bullet. The other half of me wonders if the money in the sport ruined the best part of the sport. Would Bryce Underwood have succeeded as a college quarterback if his work ethic and motivations were not polluted by the instant gratification of a payday?
It's nothing new in pro sports for a guy to get his big payday and check out. Just sucks because it stymes growth that only happens when you have the desire to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and go to work.
By the way, I am by no means saying that college players don't deserve to be paid.

Douchebag Portnoy has to live with this shitty investment.
Larry Ellison the billionaire wont loose much sleep over 12 million.
that's nothing if you have over 200 billion.
But it does look like LSU is the winner in that exchange.

I never freaked out over losing him. With him being from Michigan I thought it was a good chance he would flip Michigan or somewhere closer at some point. Also, he appeared to be a good athlete for his size with a cannon for an arm, but heard nothing about his intelligence or his accuracy on standard routes.
