Bruce Pearl also had a history running a successful program in the SEC.

You’re bursting the bubble of all the gloom & doom posters with your facts and common sense. You need to stop.

Half of the melt would stop if this team could score more than 50 points. That is how low this bar is right now.

This team seems to have given up. This is the same team that had chemistry and fight in every game up to and including a big win vs Wake Forest and Arkansas. Hell, they battled and almost won at Kentucky. Something changed after that Kentucky game and they haven’t been the same since. They have been destroyed by every team since…. at A&M, at home vs Florida and Auburn and then of course, the Bama game. Maybe there is something going on in the locker room but this team seems to have quit on their teammates and their coach.

Lol tell me you don’t pay attention to basketball without telling me you don’t pay attention to basketball.

Everyone jumped ship when Wade got canned and McMahon had to completely rebuild the roster with the transfer portal. This is nowhere close to the same roster Wade had.

Even playing their best you could tell this team had some major deficiencies. It has obviously caught up to them. I like many others thought Miller would be a lot better, and Hannibal so far has been 1 game and done. Teams just focus on stopping KJ, and that’s all that is needed.

Don't be posting logical posts especially backed by numbers. It will hurt most folks' brains on here!!

It's "see result, blame coach" over here, be it any sports!!

Long post, but well thought out and reasoned. I don’t think the down voters actually read the whole thing

I see you’re point, but it’s based strictly on record. You could see immediate improvement in their play Pearl’s first year

He brought 3 players with him from Murray State and said he could have brought more. Commitment to NIL makes the worry of POSSIBLE sanctions irrelevant. Kids want money, that’s #1.

If the team looked organized, fought hard and there was some resemblance of this phenomenal system CMM is supposed to run, you could look past the lack of recruiting. The minute distributions make no sense either. It’s really just a mess all over, which is why we are losing so many games and losing them bad.

Go back and compare what WW inherited his first season.

Stop the histrionics and give him time to get established. The schedule gets much lighter in February and things can change in a hurry.

That is very good point and good comparison to use. Which is why McMahon is going to be given 3-4 years minimum

Bingo. People can kick the can down the road. If you are in year one and you already have players quitting half way through the year, it doesn’t seem like a good trend.

I do give MM credit for getting good players here on short notice. But it looks like the development side of it is lacking.

Let’s see how he recruits with an entire season. Early returns don’t look good, but there’s time.

The selling point on MM was that he could coach. He was a good X and O’s guy and the question mark was recruiting. He seemed to pass the recruiting test early, but is failing the X and O’s test, miserably.

It's not so much McMahon's record as it is the way this team plays. We have no fire. The team has taken the personality of the coach, which is essentially none. It speaks to a lack of buy in from the locker room. At this rate, he won't be here past next year

Rick Barnes first couple of yrs at Tennessee would also be comparable. Barnes took over for Donnie Tyndall who inherited nothing from Cuonzo Martin. Tyndall got fired after 1 yr due to NCAA crimes committed at So Miss. Barnes had Robert Hubbs and not much else.
