I don’t think it is illogical from a clean cut white guys perspective. I don’t ever feel unsafe in my interactions with police. That is the basis on how I handle situations.
I know other people have different experiences. That is why they may react differently. And that very well could be perceived as illogical by you

An officer is not entitled to treat you as a "threat' due to non compliance with demands. Perhaps you attended the Derek Chauvin Police Academy?
I haven't made it through the thread yet ,but I saw that you were replying to the guy that said this,I mesu have missed it when he originally made this post.
Anyway, this stopped me in my tracks. This is the exact thing that seems someone a threat. They absolutely can and should treat you as a threat whenever you dont comply. Dumbest post I've seen on here

So you think he meant unzip his groin zipper looking for a gun?
I would think most people would assume “I was violated numerous times even as going as far as trying to unzip my pants” meant groin zipper

Honestly, unless a gun or knife was felt... I see no need to unzip pockets or groin.

Just so we are clear, the BRPD disagrees with you

Other white people have different experiences than you because we are not all the same. Not all white people are “clean cut” and law abiding. Not all black people are criminals and draw negative attention from police. It’s amazing how some people try to always remove behaviors from the equation so that skin color is always the determining factor.

These key points continue to remain unaddressed by those defending the lies as "mostly true".
he never mentioned he was an LSU football player and he threw out “I play football” well after the event was deescalated.
they never snatched his phone away as he tried to film them
they never said where is your gun or accused him of having drugs
you can take Koys statement line by line and tear it to shreds as each is a different layer of dishonesty to fit some narrative he created in his head

After Koi first made his complaint, coach O shared this nugget of wisdom:
"While I cannot comment on the investigation, what I can say is that we must work collectively to embrace our differences. We have to listen, learn and come together to combat social injustice and racism if we are to create a safer and more equitable society for all people."
So he can't comment on the investigation, but he can suggest the BRPD officers committed some sort of social injustice and racism. Clearly, it's best this guy steer way clear of the La. Senate else he'd truly screw the pooch.
I just went to wafb's website and watched the video for myself. BRPD rolls up on Koi and his friend at 0200 in a parking garage. Koi and friend are not in a car, not proceeding to enter a car, not walking away from a car. Nope, these two are behind a car, for whatever reason, at 2:00 a.m. and with apparently no one around. As the officer approaches, the fact that they are behind the cars can be seen in the video.
So, lurking behind cars, at 2:00 a.m., officers approach, that alone is reasonably suspicious to a reasonable person to warrant an officer making contact. Next the officer approaches Koi and friend and orders them to place hands on car, which is reasonable under the circumstances. Koi/friend do not obey. Officer draws weapon and uses command voice to reiterate order to place hands on car. Eventually they do. Officers conduct an outer garment pat-down - completely within Terry v. Ohio. Notice, the officers never even placed the two guys in handcuffs which would have been okay until they had things sorted out. Seems the officers acted reasonably in light of what they saw: 2 guys behind cars, 2:00 a.m., no one around in parking garage. This is precisely why I don't park in garages in NOLA and go out. There have been numerous incidents where people get robbed in a garage after a night of clubbing.

The rest of the quote doesn’t change the fact that he alluded to having his groin zipper unzipped
He would have said unzip my pockets if he were being honest

he didnt have a zipper, he was wearing sweats
I thought Traeshon Holden (the taller guy on the left of the video frame) was the one wearing the crimson adidas sweatpants. I couldn’t tell what Koy was wearing from watching the video.

I wasn’t removing behaviors. I’m explaining to you that people react differently to things based on life experiences.

Not “all”, as in every single one. But it is very much an issue

Yes, people hid guns in their front zippers all the time

Dude, he said they "violated him" and said they unzipped his pants. You have to be pretty damn obtuse if you think he was referring to anything other than the zipper that everyone refers to that way.

Ok please tell me how the officer should act then in that situation. Please tell me how you’d react. Would you bake them cookies and hand them glass of milk as you ask nicely to put your hands on the car after you’ve seen someone trying to hide behind a car like an idiot? Cops have to deal with the worst kinds of people on a daily basis for shite pay and many of those people hate them so much they wish them dead. I’m sorry if I don’t get all offended because he told a stupid kid who wasn’t following directions to put his hands on the car with his service weapon pointed at said stupid kid. But please tell me how you’d handle this situation to make everything all sunshine and butterflies.
