More details are needed to properly assess this, and you’re probably right, but if (IF) the drug dealer has no priors and maybe a father in his house, $67,000 bond is not bad.
ETA:
But now that I took the time to read tne article:
No way should this guy get a bond. He is demonstrably a danger to society.

We need to amend legislation allowing Commissioners to set bond amounts.
Posted on 10/1/26 at 9:27 am to WillieD
The legislature could fix this completely by creating written standards for how bonds are calculated.

Thing is - this dude will be out doing hood rat shite in HIS community and will likely do some other crimes out and about. If you're in his community, maybe you would want some accountability. If not - then what do I care. Let him kill/drug all over his territories at will.
Now, when he's leaving your hood and coming into mine, that's when we need the Punisher.

What are the odds this tPOS has already killed someone in EBRP but has never been caught?
The tPOS has to.come up with less than $7K to bond out, as a drug dealer he has the means to do so.

And when he was AG crime rates spiraled out of control.

Where’s the felon in possession charge? That one should’ve bumped his bond to $500k & add $250k for possession of stolen weapons.

When Democrats cry about imprisoning non violent offenders, they absolutely mean guys like this.

Same with sentencing. It doesn’t need to be flexible or interpretive at all. Criminal advocates (Democrats) would immediately cry about “circumstances.”
I doubt it would ever happen.

The GOP has a super majority. They literally don’t need democrat permission. The fact that they don’t do it shows how much they actually approve of this nonsense continuing.
