Basically said our stud WR corps would be wasted if Daniels is the starter..... You don’t need a running QB when you have WR talent. You need a QB to get the ball to that talent
Absolutely!

A fact that gets totally lost in the minds of many Rantknocker Geeks that are obsessed with a Dual Threat QB.

Yeah but you’ve got to be able to hurt a defense in all different ways. Coach will choose the right guy whoever it will be

Don't really understand how people could be upset that he's starting to adapt & getting better. In his interview on Saturday two of the main things he's mentioned he's working on is footwork & progressions.

He's only been here a couple weeks now so hopefully the trajectory continues upward. Video from the scrimmages the other day there were some drops for sure but some of his throws were missing high. Hoping that's a footwork/set thing & they're able to reduce that by fall.

Unless Brennan transfers, I'd be surprised if Nuss got a lot of snaps.

You'll probably get a small snippet of a comment from Kelly on Howard, at the end of spring...be looking for ut. It will be the start of the beginning of Howard being a starter by mid year.

That would be a fair way for this competition to go. I would hope that the team’s quarterback play in 22 will show considerable improvement over 21.

I haven't read anything that indicates that. The argument is over whether he is, hands down, the best of our QBs.

Personally I just dont see Daniels getting the nod so soon. It takes a while to get in sync with your guys and I think he'll be limited to certain packages this season in more of a less bulky Taysom Hill kind of role with Brennan as the starter.

At least we'll be improved over Max and his long wind-up and zero pocket awareness.

What I don’t understand is how last year when this debate was going on with max and myles , I had people calling me an idiot because I said myles is better. This year I say that Jayden may have a chance to beat myles out ,maybe being the key word, and now im an idiot again.

Jayden is better than max imo . Everyone wanted max because of mobility, Jayden is much more mobile than max and has a stronger arm and at the time had more experience.

Oh yeah Nevermind, I forgot, max had the it factor , case closed, my bad.

The it factor = pound your chest and say this is my fricking house. If you do that after a td then you will be the favorite and win any qb competition on tiger rant.

I'm getting old and have been follow LSU football for a LONG time. It seem that with a few notable exceptions the most popular QB on the team is whoever is 2nd string. It's what LSU fans have been doing for decades.

And before you all lose your shite please note that I said "with a few notable exceptions".

Whats wierd is that no one is willing to sacrifice for the future. Walker Howard is the future. All this stuff w Brennan and Daniels does nothing but take reps away from the inevitable future
.Howard getting in.
Problem is Brennan and Daniels are polar opposites. Offense won't do well trying to swap these 2 regularly.
The ONLY thing Brennan has over Walker is experience. Walker is superior in the physical aspects. Brennan also had quit on this team. Losing valuable respect/trust. It's just a waste at this point, even though he has some passing skills.

Look at the schedule he played against as a freshman
Kent state
Sacramento state
Michigan state
Colorado
Cal
Washington state
Utah
Ucla
Usc
Oregon state
Oregon
Arizona
Florida state(bowl)
I think there strength of schedule was in the 60s in 2019
To throw 17 tds against that schedule is not impressive
Especially when we just watched max johnson throw for 27 with a strength of schedule in the top 10

Denbrock, Kelly, brennan, and others have said the focus if this offense is gonna be the ability of the qb to get the ball out of his hands to the playmakers as quick as possible.
Not make one read in a progression and run.

There has been no better statement on this board than this, in reference to Daniels. And taking it a step further, what do weaker teams lack? Talent and speed. So his speed helped him survive against weak rushes and no athletes to run him down.
Take his speed away and make him survive on reads and accuracy, and you get last years stats.
Another step further, is his weight is what all the "experts" here said Brennan couldn't play at, that he had to bulk up for SEC.
Now, a guy that runs even more, is just fine being skinny?
Tiger fans and the rant are hilarious

Just let the boys compete, all these opinions mean nothing at the end of the day

The one you and nobody else is talking about is Nuss. Somebody said he looks the most consistent atm. Not sure why we all wrote him off.

Brennan is a fairly well known commodity. I'm ok with that known commodity starting and think we would be a pretty good offense with him.

If someone beats him out, that's lagniappe because the coaches believe someone else is better than that known, good commodity.

IMHO this is a win/win for us. I hope someone steps up and surprises the hell out of us.

For those saying the backup is always the favorite of LSU fans: that's only the case when we have a mediocre starter. I don't recall that with Rohan, Russell, Mett, Burrow, etc. This is not an LSU thing, but a fan thing.
