If Max wins the job and balls out he likely plays one more year then off to the NFL. Then it's between Nuss and Howard.

O named Myles a leader of the team on OTB the other day, he obviously views him as having starter capability and he obviously appreciates what Max did last year by making him QB1 going into spring. Unlike when Borrow came and “competed” for the job in 2018, I think this is the first legit competition we have had in a while and it’s fricking great. We finally have two SEC caliber starters and then Nussmeier who will probably be ready by next year. And then we have one of the top qbs in the nation committed to us. It’s amazing how far the qb room has come since the Les Miles years.

When Walker Howard gets here, he won't sit long.

Max is not a running threat.
He's more mobile than Brennan.
That's not saying a lot.

He didn’t start against any decent defense

But he was meh against Alabama in limited
Time.

He had 1 good dive against A&M but he had like 11 total yards in 3 other drives against them.

And I think A&Ms defense was heavily overrated. Any top end offense they played scored in them. They had good stats against the bottom half of the SEC offenses and gave up lots of points to the good offenses. Completely dodged Ole Miss who could at least score

11/17, 110 yards. 0 turnovers.

Not great, but not too bad. And that’s while getting backup reps for weeks.

He led us to our only TD at A&M.

I’m not saying he was all American in those games, but he didn’t look bad. And then when he got two starts he led us to impressive wins.

slow down now. I like Max and think he's a better option than Brennan, but I'm not seeing NFL, at this point.

Sample size is just too small vs Alabama or A&M. Saying “he scored our only TD he just needed to get comfortable” might be true, but there is no way of knowing that.

He looked good against Florida and Ole Miss but they literally have trash can defenses.

Pretty safe to say LSU has the two best QBs in the SEC

Max won't transfer. Not happening. Go check out his father's history at Florida State.

They aren't quitters.

His brother committing signaled that they are all in regardless.

I'm going to bet right now that if Max Johnson is the starter in 2021, that LSU will make a Championship run in 2022, if we can put together a decent offensive line.

As LSU's receiver corp will have sufficient experience. Plus Boutte and Gilbert will be juniors.

The running back corp will be loaded to the gills and the QB will be very experienced.

Finally, the defense will also be loaded to the gills.

Jontre had a ton of looks as well. I hope he has a breakout season.

I still want Myles to start. I honestly think he could put up Heisman type numbers with a full season.

if Max gets named starter Myles might transfer and vise versa. Then we are left with a starting QB and a true freshman backup.

By the same token, Max Johnson may transfer and Jake Johnson may commit to someone else.

Yeah, let us not have good, young QB play because it'll scare away talented recruits.

Clemson & Alabama's QB rooms are now in shambles!

If Myles is smart, he'll read the writing on the wall and hit the transfer portal ASAP and hopefully he can beat TJ and transfer to Auburn where he can compete against Bo Nix for the starting job.

Meanwhile, if Max Johnson starts in 2021, get ready for another Championship run in 2022.

who you want behind you if a fight breaks out ? Max or Myles ?

Whoever you choose should also be your starting qb

for me, that's Max
I would rather have Maason Smith back me up. Should he be our QB?

Why would Max transfer, that makes no sense.
