He is gone.
BUT....just for arguments sake....
The Brewers bonus pool is $6,611,900. Slot value for the 21st pick is $3,013,600. If he actually wants above slot money....
I fully believe he is gone

They wouldn't have taken him there without an agreement in place ahead of time. There is too much risk. They can't spend that money if they don't sign him.

Just hoping to start an argument that doesn’t involve a former player or a current player in a thread about a signee

Pick an argument. What is it?

Fair enough. I can get on board with that.

Have you heard any rumblings on why Singer dropped like he did?

I can’t believe you left out future 10 year major leaguer Jared Foster.

Foster got released the other day, I think.

Come on...He was given every opportunity early this season. He ended the season batting .267 with a team-worst .283 slugging percentage. I like Reid but he was never in the doghouse.

Delatte had nudes of PM, he played way too much.
Foster wasnt in the doghouse, he played a ton even through some struggles.

I also think he will sign ($3mm is a lot of cheese), but there isn't all that much risk to not signing a first rounder as the team will be compensated with a pick that is one slot worse in the next year's draft if they don't sign one. So if the Brewers feel strongly about next year's draft, it could be a calculated move on their part.
Es. Astros took Brady Aiken #1 in 2014 and they didn't sign. They were compensated with the #2 overall pick in 2015 (Bregman).

But the Brewers would lose half their bonus pool if they didn't sign him.
That wasn't the case with the astros, they had a bunch of early picks boosting their bonus pool.

They had an agreement in place when they drafted him that would have allowed the Astros to sign a 6th round pick well over slot. It didn’t fall apart until his physical revealed he would need TJ surgery and the Astros reduced their offer, which he did not agree to.
Of course everyone thought the Astros were fos, but he threw like 6 pitches in his first appearance several months later and then had the surgery.

Very true and a good point.
Like I said I also think they work out a deal, but with the pick compensation rule, it's not like they get zilch from not signing. Heck, the guy was thought of as a potential 1.1 before the spring. I'd take a flier on him at 1.21 for sure.
