Brian Polian, born on 3rd, thinks he hit a triple. Nothing is lost here, nothing at all. Good riddance.

None of that is relevant to the question I asked or to his current off field role. I get why people were happy when he was removed from the ST role, but that has nothing to do with this.

The name Brian Polian will leave a bitter taste in the mouth of Tiger fans for years to come.

Let him move on and let LSU move on.
It was time for him to go. Get over it.

It would seem that it is those rejoicing over this move who aren’t getting over things. Kelly obviously thought he brought something valuable to the table as the GM or he would have just outright fired him in the first place.

Placeholder until he found a job

John Carrol about to have a ton of kicks blocked in a couple of months.

Seems like a good move for him. Best of luck to him and his family. Becoming the AD of your alma mater is a pretty sweet gig.

Most of the idiots on here don't realize he was no longer involved with Special teams and more of an administrative position with recruiting. No one called his alma mater and asked them to make him the AD. Some really dumb bastards on here. I Wish him well and good luck.

I could not give a $hit ! Our ST's went downhill with no improvement at all.

What the hell is a John Carroll university?

Dont guess he liked being bumped from on field coach
Then he wouldn't be taking an AD job

John Carroll is a private Catholic university in a really nice area on the east side of Cleveland. They are Division III and have had a pretty good football team over the past few years. Yes, he's leaving a big time football program, but he's going back to his alma mater and further burnishing his credentials as an administrator. I suspect that's where he sees his future.

I know it's not his alma mater, but GM of LSU football sounds better than AD of John Carroll
Depends....if he wants to continue to work directly in football at the collegiate level or the NFL, then yes. But if he sees his future in administration, perhaps as the AD of a big university at some point, then this move makes a lot of sense.

I bet he was told to find another job if he could and they left him on staff until then out of respect.

This is great news. Good riddance.

Hear me out here...

He is tanned, rested, and ready. The question is not why..

Its why NOT...

Who set up the schemes for return coverage? And we had extremely piss poor coverage. Did you notice there was a penalty nearly every ST play? Who was responsible for correcting that?
Who was responsible for coaching that a punt or field goal attempt is a live ball and can be returned?

No doubt - I do not like or respect Polian as a coach. What a shitty job he did last year. fricking terrible.
I think as others have stated that he only remained on staff since he's Kelly's buddy until he found another job.

He was on the field at the spring game. With a head set on!…. Chasing CBK all over the place. I have heard he was in or around the players in the ops bulding even tho his office was no longer there. He was still
Making decisions… Some guys have to leave to really move on…he even said it in a press conference he already missed being with the action… “put down roots”…how long will that be before the next opportunity is better. LSU will be fine and vice versa Goodluck to the Polians
