No comprende. They get a gimmie possession to start the 2nd half if you opt to receive the kickoff. Logic doesn't make sense. Defer is the only answer! The way this team gets it going late in the 2nd quarter would tend to create momentum in 2nd half so getting the ball makes sense to me to start 3rd qtr. I see no logic in receiving the kickoff to start the game. That's stupid IMHO.

Back when Ansparger coached, you weren't given the option to defer. That was changed sometime in the 90s.
As I've posted several times before, but some aren't comprehending: You will NEVER catch a coach on a hot mic late in the first half saying: "HOT DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we get to kickoff to start the third quarter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
When given the choice, you kickoff to start the game EVERY MOTHERFLUCKING TIME!!!
