He is a great fricking hire. Turn on ESPN and tell me if they are talking about LSU or the upcoming #1 Georgia/#4 Alabama game this weekend?
But for the haters, check out these stats...
Record at Cincinnati: 34-6 including 12-0 perfect season in 2012
Players he had during those three full seasons
QBs: Ben Mauk, Tony Pike, Zach Collaros
RBs: Butler Benton, Jacob Ramsey, Isaiah Pead
WRs: Marcus Bennett, Dominick Goodman, Mardy Gilyard, Armon Binns, D.J. Woods
Players Drafted to NFL
2008: 1 (6th Round)
2009: 4 (2nd, Two 5th, and a 6th Rounder)
2010: 3 (4th, 5th, and 7th rounder)
He had no REAL NFL talent on those teams, just his ability to coach his squad, which was 8-5 the year before he got there.
Also, if Notre Dame wins their bowl game, they would finish 12-1, tying his best record while coaching at Notre Dame. HE LEFT THAT to come to LSU and take on this challenge. He can coach and will change the culture in that locker room to rival what Nick Saban has done at Alabama. Respect and hard work is all that matters. He might be a POS in real life but who cares if he is winning.
Be excited about this because he knows if he fails, he will ruin his coaching career and go from great to average. He knows what this means and itll be fun to see how fast he can turn things around. Be ready for a balanced offense and a scary defense

Tadelatt I really hope that Kelly will CHANGE for LSU fans . I am 67 & a die hard ND fan. Here is the TRUTH ! He is a FINESSE COACH,he thinks he is a great off. mind ,yet he ran off several 4& 5 star qb's .He is UNABLE to DEVELOP Qb's '' JACK COAN'' who he personally brought in ,is EXHIBIT ONE ! Back in around 2012 after a game he threw his players under the bus ,saying '' THEY WEREN'T COACHED THAT WAY'' to which MANTI TEO responded for the next game '' WE THE PLAYERS ARE GONNA COME OUT & PLAY FOR EACH OTHER''. After Kelly's 4-8 season ant other coach would be fired. ND AD propped him up & he did improve ,just not ENOUGH ! ALL HIS ND TEAMS ,usually come out FLAT ! Kelly's response WE PLAY in a BUISNESS like way. THIS IS ..... FREAKIN FOOTBALL NOT BASKETBALL ! Get ready for ''TRUST THE PROCESS '' '' WE NEED ANOTHER COAT OF PAINT ''. OH YEA ! He WILL WIN ALOT of games ....Just not the IMPORTANT ones. FACT CHECK IT .

IMO BK is a great hire. Certainly better than the other options. Not sure how his methods will translate in the SEC, but the regular season wins are there.
Yes espn is talking about it instead of the SEC title game right now because it just happened, it involves two high profile programs including ND, which always grabs headlines no matter how much or how little success they are having.
