No, we have football players at that position that have been in the program and playing football within the past 4 years

Depends on how quick he is compared to the guys on the roster. I honestly don't think he would be better than Moreau and Roddy though and he's not a pure pass catcher like an Antonio Gates type of TE.

The Seahawks had a basketball player who hadn't played football since 8th grade starting at Left Tackle. Your argument doesn't convince me.

I understand your point about "pure pass catcher;" he won't know much about blocking, recognition or routes. But he should sure be able to jump, high point and catch.

Why not give a guy shot? Imagine if the NFL told Antonio Gates or Jimmy Graham no. Bridgewater may not be all world, but he may be better than the options available.

Don't worry. He's not going to take YOUR spot on the team. Oh wait. Never mind.

If he gets leaner and stronger and can transfer his athletic ability over, he's got a good chance.. he probably should have listened to all the outside opinions 5 years ago and focused on football.. I have little doubt he'd be prepping for the combine or already in the NFL had he focused solely on football

At 6'5", 282 lbs, wouldn't he make a great 3-4 DE? I'd put him in the rotation there.

Seems like playing defense would be an easier path to transition into football. No complex routes to learn and catching the ball in traffic and getting popped (something he hasn't experienced in a while and certainly not at this level). At DE, he could just concentrate on whipping the shite out of the person in front of him.

I think that ship has sailed, but if he wants to try, let him come out. I agree that DE would be a better spot than TE at this point.

Does the football team have an open scholarship, to give to him?

He was never a big fan of contact and high schools. Plus his hands were sub-par.

I hope Bridge gets some PT this fall

Brian may become a serviceable tight end, and I look forward to see what happens with him.

It is very tough to play two sports.

Since basketball should end soon, he should be able to participate in most of the spring practices.

I saw this thread and was about to post:

No he wouldn't play, but he has a shot at being drafted by the Seahawks to play LT
