Just dumb. He will be starter when healthy,

And only threw 3/4 passes beyond the sticks, one being picked and another almost picked. The average had a lot to do with YAC from 2 long runs by Marshall and Jenkins. He was bolstered by 54-21 run pass ratio and if he was ready to handle this offense he wouldn’t have only thrown 21 passes. It gets harder not easier once you have the entire responsibility on your shoulders like Brennan does. You people think you just average out his 21 attempts to 40 when he gets more but that’s not how it works in real life.

but you have to give your injured QB the latitude to keep his job.
Best man plays! That’s it. No one is owed anything, and any coach who operates that way is a loser.

He will still be "out" next week versus Auburn. If Finley puts up another similar performance, then I would expect him to dress, but still be out as a means to justify him not starting against Alabama.
We shall see though.

TJ just looked better all around - and that with a semi stout USCe defense coming after him.

3rd down efficiency and Brennan’s ability/inabiiity to run will determine if he remains starting QB remainder of season. Finley played a tremendous game I’ll give him that. Really liked the way he was able to spot an open receiver when flushed from pocket. Reminded me of Burrow. It’s only 1 game but it was a GREAT game by any standard/metric.
I like his size and ability to get a few yards when needed. Probably the best 1st game starting in history of LSU football. Future looks bright at QB position. Props to Big “E.”

one being picked and another almost picked.
I see a touch throw to Marshall to the corner and throws in tight windows over the middle. I never heard him complain about throwing lanes (geez). Maybe that’s because of his size.
quote:Maybe if ANY team felt Brennan was remotely possible of keeping the ball and running or running a draw, it would open up more of the offense such as the running game... how about making the defense give 2 shits about the QB to run and make a difference. You don’t understand how this works such as a situation where they have to spy... I’m not saying TJ is a great runner. I’m saying he is a better choice to do that than Brennan but not as good as Johnson.
You people think you just average out his 21 attempts to 40 when he gets more but that’s not how it works in real life.
Johnson might have the biggest upside IF he can throw into those windows and react that quick with authority.
