Him and Chinea seem to be in that same spot for DH, right? I do like foster coming in to pinch hit and pinch run in games he doesn't start obviously.

For LHP's, I think it's going to be whoever has the hot bat in practice between Foster/Edward/Chinea/Barash, nobody has really seemed to have won that yet.

Tyler Moore basically has the DH spot on lock against RHP's.

Great defensive catchers usually don't provide great offensive numbers. Gibby's junior year was an anomaly. But there is no excuse for Ross, or any starter for that matter, to be hitting under the Mendoza line.

I would be happy if he could hit .260-.270 from this point on.

agree 100% anything over .250 at this point would be a bonus

I know you know I know this and were just throwing it out there for others.

Ross hit .292 last year and I'd be happy with .250 from him this year because he is so valuable defensively.

I wish this were the case, but it is not for some reason. Coach has not used Moore in these situations recently.

Jones hit the ball really hard today. It's amazing when a guy is in a slump those hard shots always seem to find a glove. And then, guys like Bregman and laird who are hot, always seem to find open space. I can promise you this about Jones...there are no other .220 hitters in the nation that pitchers give so much respect to. It seems like pitchers pitch him just as cautiously as they pitch Katz.

I mean, it's really not that huge of a deal now that he is hitting below mendoza and Jones is in the low .200's because literally everyone else is raking in the lineup and producing hits/runs.

If this was last year, we would have seriously had to think about benching both of them because offense was at a premium.

I know it's still relatively early, but it's crazy just how much more talented this team is offensively compared to the Arby Fields-pain train lineup from last year.

And we won the SEC last year. Obviously, pitching was deeper, but still...

Our postseason lineup had Arby Fields AND Alex Edward in it

Arby couldn't even make the team this year and Alex Edward is essentially what Buzzy Haydel and Chris McGhee were in 2009, Cheerleaders.

But weren't the last 4 starters we faced left handed?

I like the way Chinea is swinging the bat. He has hit some rockets right at people.

Jones has improved at the plate at least. He leads the team in walks.
