He is living up to any hype he had. Unreal how well he is playing this early.

Agreed. After watching many practices and scrimmages, I thought he might be the real deal at the plate (but not this good so soon), but I had no idea he'd be this good defensively. He has the talent and he has worked his arse off to be a great defensive SS.

Man I love watching this kid play ball. Reminds me a lot of Dustin Pedroia, hope his career turns out as good.

If he doesn't improve his play any more than he is playing from now until he leaves LSU, I'd be happy.

Dude is in beast mode.

So is Laird, and Katz for that matter.
Rhymes too.

This whole lineup realy.

I agree with the other stuff, but don't go overboard. Ross and Jones are sucking wind at the plate. The way the rest of the lineup is hitting though, if we could get .250 out of those guys, look out. The production from the DH position could improve too.

I like Foster in the lineup as that other bat right now.

I may be Jones' biggest hater on this board, but I'm not too worried about him right now, he's atleast making solid contact and has been a hell of a lot more patient at the plate this season.

Ross, yeah, not sure what's wrong with him. He was so consistent last year.

Ross isn't expected to hit 300.
Jones really is hitting the ball, they just aren't dropping for him.
DH spot, OK I'll give you that one.

So about .210 is what we are expecting from them?

Him and Chinea seem to be in that same spot for DH, right? I do like foster coming in to pinch hit and pinch run in games he doesn't start obviously.

This lineup already is scary even with those two slumping. We have speed, hit for (above) average, and power.

Great defensive catchers usually don't provide great offensive numbers. Gibby's junior year was an anomaly. But there is no excuse for Ross, or any starter for that matter, to be hitting under the Mendoza line.
