I just want to come to this board and say it is so nice to have a competent head football coach at LSU. I’m 28 years old and for nearly 2/3 of my life LSU has had an absolute clown of a football coach. It blows my mind that both Les and Ed won titles at LSU. Just think what a competent HC and staff can do at LSU.

It’s football , it doesn’t take a rocket scientist, but it’s sure nice to see what it will be like with the equivalent to that

They were both great recruiters.

If You recruit well and hire well you will win a lot of games.

You’re a bigger clown for criticizing 2 NC winning coaches. They had their flaws but they accomplished more than you coach potato QB

I’ve been through:

McClendon (smart but philosophically stubborn)
Rein (smart - but tragically never got to show it)
Stovall (good coach; bad at politics)
Arnsparger (damn smart coach)
Archer (good but in over his head, better DC)
Hallman (absolute worst LSU hire ….. EVER!)
Dinardo (see McClendon*)
Saban (to date, BEST hire at LSU)
Miles (Wolf in sheeps clothing, fooled a LOT of people )
Ogeron (meant well, had the BEST staff & team, still - over his head)
Kelly (Hmmmmmmmm jury still out)

He doesn’t have to offer them criticism. The fact that they both have had hard times finding jobs (les miles at Kansas) as National championship winning coaches tells you all you need to know.

I almost hate to say this but a competent HC doesn’t always win the championship. Saban is the case in point. There has to be an element of crazy it seems. But I think CBK will win in this league BC the most important criteria is having an exceptional staff. I don’t think having inept assistants will ever be the case as long as he’s here.

This!

Everything else is relative.

Will take the bozo NCs all day long. But prefer BK at helm steering LSU's ship for a long time. No more grass or shirtless cavemen, please.

Would look a lot like Alabama who has played in the NCG 6 of the 7 last years. We are headed that direction with BK.

That took courage.

It's so funny reading all of you hypocrites damming former coaches. Every fricking one of you dorks did victory dances, high five your baws and strutted around when "we" won those natties. Now you are taking like both of them were the black death.

Neither panned out in the long run. Well that's life. Try to get a grip on reality. Not everything works out like your Mommy said it would. Real men get over them and move on.

I've got high hopes for Coach Kelly but I want to see him win a few games first, maybe a divisional championship (if things are still around after SEC realignment) before I kiss the hem of his garment.
