It was late, and the game was decided, but he pulled out on two swings so bad that he couldn't reach a ball over the middle of the plate.

I think Braswell is a better defensive 3B than Hughes was at shortstop. Hal Hughes got a reputation as being a “great defensive player” only because his offense was so meek. Hal was an above average defender, that’s all. Braswell plays a great 3B.
Thank you. Hugh’s was an above average defender, and the worst bat I’ve ever seen in my life at the college level.

To put Braswell in the same conversation as him is incredibly stupid. Hugh’s wasn’t even a threat to get the ball out of the infield.

Reeves hit the ball on the button last night, just at someone. Buntswell is either going to bunt or K

The point you clearly missing is neither one had a hit, so you judge their defense and that's who you start. It's stupid to say one hit the ball on a button but got out and the other one blunted or K, both resulted in nothing.

His bat is getting into a ready hit position wayyyy too late. By the time he lifts it off his shoulders the ball is in the mitt
So why don't the HC and Hitting Coach correct this?

He pops the ball up more times than either of those two.

A common symptom of pulling out.

He’s made good contact in every at bat. Braswell has a terrible swing and rarely makes solid contact.
Brasewell batting average 0.201
Reeves 0.266
Braswell Slugging % 0.291
Reeves 0.453
Braswell OB% 0.321
Reeves 0.377
Reeves has a lot more walks per at bats than Braswell.
Offensively, it’s a no brainer

Unfortunately, if you look at the last several weeks, neither have done almost anything.

The argument that Braswell has been so bad that giving Reaves a shot makes sense. But pretending Reaves has shown this is a no brainer is just fooling yourself. He’s been overmatched against good pitching.

In the box, players most often revert back to what’s normal for them.

What I find strange is that Jay helped him so much from in the eight months after he left South Carolina to when he did well at LSU. Then in off season number two under Jay he did what exactly? Because this year he can’t come close to maintaining the improvements he made from 2023 to 2024. In fact he regressed and head-scratchingly so

Jay is better at teaching the approach(mindset) than he is the stance and swing from looking at our guys. Or many just don’t listen.

He was actually rounding into form during SEC play this year, IIRC at some point in our doldrums this year he was close to leading the team in SEC batting average again. He’s fallen way off since then, however.
