Why are assholes allowed on the board? You have 2 downvotes for a very positive post. Geaux Tigers!!!
He should have all down votes for declaring a coach who does not have one LSU game under his belt as a 10/10. Kelly seems to be doing an excellent job, but lets hold the "coach of the year" and "10/10" hype for after the season is over.

He is definitely managing the team well now to see his on field efficiency. If that matches the off-season results, we are in for a treat.

I’m all aboard the Kelly train BUT this dude hasn’t coached a single game yet. Let’s see how this season goes
Kelly has us in 'awe' right now because he is the first actual 'professional' college coach we've had since Saban.
Guys, don't get me wrong, I'm on the Kelly train.
But let's at least consider that at ND, he went 0-fer in major bowl games, the BCS championship, and the College Football Playoff. He went 10-9 against opponents that finished the season ranked in the Top 25, and just 2-6 against teams that finished ranked in the Top 10.
Previous record aside, here's my current take--and I might just have on my purple and gold glasses on. For Kelly to leave ND, I believe he made the second to the last most important decision in his life. He uprooted himself from a place of relative comfort and decided, at his age, to reinvent himself. He embarked on a 10 year journey--a stranger in a strange land. One last hurrah where he gives it his all. One of his stated goals: "I want to beat Nick Saban."
None of his goals can come easy. I have to believe he knows he can't be the same coach he was at ND and expect success in the SEC. Time will tell, and I'll give him plenty of rope to prove himself.

Honestly, we will see come Sept. But I have a better feeling about this hire than I did the last hire.

Well usually in bowl games ,especially NC playoff, youre
going against very talented teams.ND in alot of cases
didn`t match up along the DL or overall team speed in alot
of cases. They beat LSU in a bowl strictly on coaching. The
game where O chocked on the goal and puyssied out.

Agree, now we need to see it on the field. And I’m not talking straight wins and losses, I’m talking discipline, progression and development, and an “I can do” attitude from the players AND coaches.
I say not wins and losses because I do think Orgeron left this place in shambles, and Kelly has had to start almost literally from the ground up.
Wins will come in time, but I want to see a strong foundation from the first snap of game 1.

It's a nice narrative but it's false.
Kelly had been trying to leave south bend since 2015. After his failures with Brian van Gorder and once the ad forced him to fire his old boys network including LSU's offensive coordinator, he was impossible to get rid of for years..even though he kept winning. The NFL stopped calling and there were few colleges wanting to offer the guarenteed con tract he was requiring.
LSU was the perfect escape. I hope it works out for LSU, but likely it will end with blowout losses and poorly developed players.

Agreed.
I think he is an “attention to detail” in every aspect of the game & players off the field accountability kind of guy.
He builds a positive and accountability mindset in the locker room and doesn’t allow for the “me-me-me” guys with attitudes that we seen from Boutte (that mindset is contagious and destroys the team unit) He brought Boutte in and changed his mindset positively. You can see the players respect what he’s doing as he truly cares about his players, but he’s not just a players coach, he is cerebral as well. He brings a “act like you’ve been there before” to the team & stops the show-boating/taunting crap.
I’ve seen some people posting Coach O/Bebe pics, but I think we should stop with all of that & respect the man for strategically pulling together the best team in college football history.
I personally know Coach O from years back in my coaching days (I like & respect the man, his divorce hurt him IMO), he’s a great motivator, one of the best D-Line position coaches in history having learned from Coach Pete Jenkins. But Bebe had to be able to hire x’s & o’s guys on both sides of the ball continuously. He was able to do it that one special season, but to repeat that every year when losing great coaches is something only Saban has been able to master. Bebe brought “lightening in a bottle” and didn’t kill our brand. I think the divorce (and maybe a late mid-life crisis) was his major downfall with distractions, and anyone that has gone thru that can attest of what it can do to your life. Not making excuses for him, because making that amount of money, own should be able to filter it away, but he didn’t. Let’s just move on from mocking the man, it does no good for LSU, period.
As far as Coach BK, I think he’s a professional In the game and life!(has some Saban-like qualities for sure). Attention to every detail of the game and life in general. BK’s only flaw to date is that he hasn’t been able to win the big games, but that could be just a matter of talent level that he didn’t quite have elite SEC type of roster with depth etc…. But even with less talent, he was able to beat us with our incompetent coaching For those games we lost.
Our Defense should be lights out, & adding those transfers was vital! Defense should keep us in the hunt for every game.
We can be very good if our OL & QB gels & stays healthy.
That’s just my .02 cents.

I agree. I think our defense will be good all around.

His big brain has so far prevented him from trying to pick up married chicks at gas stations. That’s a good sign.

Aww that's cute. The fact is the only team Kelly could beat in big games is LSU. That's your problem now.
Posted on 8/12/22 at 11:50 pm to Jawilder
I agree 100% and will continue to feel that way as long as he remains undefeated.
