I don't have an issue with players leaving and you kinda expect it. But it feels like we will have more turnover than we did after the natty last year. I heard rumors about unhappy players and Neal was one of them. Leadership is often from your upper classman that have been around a couple of years. Next year we won't have many players left from the 2023 team.

Ok. Now I'm starting to have concerns.

At people acting like we lost Micah Gibbs. Brady has good pop, but doesn’t hit for average and a has a sub par glove. Good luck to him

I’m not concerned. I don’t think Jay kicked him out but with Hernandez coming in (assuming he doesn’t sign in the draft), and Priester coming, LSU will be fine at catcher. It does suck to lose Neal because of his potential, but he simply didn’t perform

No it's not. Not one of them could hit.

Hernandez caught 3 games last year. He caught 1 as a sophomore.
He has 24 games behind the plate in his career and 20 of them were in 2022 as a freshman.
He's not coming here to be a primary option at catcher.

You obviously don’t keep up with transfer portal news ha

I feel like every time I'd watch Neal, he'd display some of the poorest ABs I've seen. Kling too.

There has been smoke he was transferring for a few weeks now. I wish we got more context as to why he’s leaving.
If Neal and Kling held LSU’s feet to the fire for NIL and/or guarantees I’m all for letting them walk. Just feels like there’s more to the story and I think many were wary of some internal conflict when the team was struggling.

Incoming catchers, Freshman, Juco Transfer, and Indiana St kid. We will be okay. I’m sure he wanted Neal but you can’t control the kids decisions.

I'm hoping the other one isn't true
Who would that be?

I think this was a mutual agreement.
Jay was very high on Neal and did everything he could to squeeze him into the lineup even when he wasn't performing. There is zero chance that JJ told Neal to leave.

His hitting could not make up his deficiencies behind the plate

Why are you bringing this up if you aren’t going to say who it is?

I agree with you here but we need a proven kid behind the plate. Neal would have been a good depth piece but next year isn’t the time to just rely on upside

There was a reason Milazzo had to catch so many games during the latter part of the season. I was not impressed with Neal's defense behind the plate this season with too many passed balls, etc. Wish him well wherever he ends up.

Exactly... don't dance around it. Say who is "not happy"
