Brady is a mentality I don't understand
Admitted, it may be just me and how I was brought up, but making a couple million a year as an LSU coach, a successful program in large part because of my role, people offering me big deer hunts, turkey hunts, and fishing trips at high dollar camps, never buying a dinner at a BR restaurant, I'd stay in that until I died. I'd be happy. and the occasional co-ed to roll around with only makes it better.

I just don't get why some people always want so much more than something that would be such a good, fulfilling life.

He wants to be in the NFL. It's not hard to understand.

He obviously wants to compete at the highest level of football. That's what the NFL is. Some people are ambitious and want to reach the top.

Maybe he has different goals than going to some redneck’s hunting camp

I literally said the same thing to my wife 5 minutes ago about the life style, with the exception of the hunting camp shite you said.

Plus, now he has to work with Can Newton and he us an absolute bitch...as opposed to eager college kids.

But obviously, he wants to coach in the nfl

It might be tough to hear, but settling is why you aren't Joe Brady. Joe Brady is successful partially because he takes his shots like this, and he's that hungry for the next challenge.

You always want to hire a guy like Joe Brady, then keep him as long as you can.

Because he’s a highly competitive person with aspirations beyond a college passing game coordinator? How hard is it to see that he would jump at the chance to prove himself at the highest possible level?

That's why the OP isn't the guy who just helped LSU win the national championship.

The reality is, the drive that makes him want to reach the pinnacle is the thing that allowed him to do what he did for LSU.

They go hand in hand.

What is there you don’t understand

A NFL OC job is quite the step up from a college passing game coordinator

He has a chance to go from low level NFL analyst to NFL OC in 2 years. Why the hell wouldn’t he do that? It’s a huge promotion.

He may be an NFL guy and not want to recruit or deal with school administrators and grades.

He may not be the starter, but he will be a Panther...so yes, he will have to work with him.

You don’t get to the top of coaching in CFB or the NFL by not being a success-obsessed workaholic.

Settling for mediocrity is how coaches get fired. It isn’t an office job where mediocrity means a 25-year career.

Who needs an opportunity to potentially be an NFL head coach when you can get a semi-annual turkey hunt!
