People confusing hosting and getting to be the home team.

This may be stupid but it’s what the NCAA does… The NCAA considers regionals and supers neutral sites even though you’re playing in your home park. The baseball tournament is played in host parks because attendance would not be good enough if they played in true neutral sites for regionals and super regionals. Since it’s a neutral site and no one is “at home” they use the number of times you’ve been the away team to determine home team.

Let's hope that holds up.

Having to give 55 minutes between games, I guess the NCAA is confident in a quick finish to “game 3”.

Please don't let this explanation seem like I am defending the NCAA, because I despise them. But, 3 innings typically take an hour to play. This game is already in the 7th and if SH hangs on there won't be a bottom of the 9th. So maybe the blind squirrel will find a nut here.

Tulane has the bases loaded, so it may not be as easy as you think.

It’s why you don’t have walk up music. It’s why “callin Baton Rouge” isn’t played when the other team changes pitchers mid inning.

Now recently, teams have started playing both teams fight songs and such to give some college flair.

Last night in Clemson it seemed as if Clemson was getting to play some of their school fight songs, and they did. But as soon as the game ended they played “Rocky Top” for Tennessee.

I’m mentally preparing myself for the possibility Tulane grounds out to shortstop after having the bases loaded for 20 hours

Also, stadium dj’s have figured out they can play a player’s walk up song as the usual between inning music if that player is leading off the next inning.

Antoine Duplantis had his song played the half inning before his final at bat as a Tiger. Jake Mangum at Miss State had an awesome moment when they played his before what would be his last at bat in Dudy Noble Stadium. The entire crowd standing and clapping with the song for a couple of minutes realizing what that moment meant. I bet it’s on YouTube somewhere. It was awesome.

What's the weather looking like in BR for today? I have a 90 minute drive ahead and need to know if I should wait or just cancel.

I guess I should do a BPB for this game, since I've already started the thread. Not a full one with names and every pitch result, just a warm up.

Been looking forward to our Tigers beating some beavers ever since we beat Tulame. It won't surprise me a bit to see rain and lighting stop our 2pm start this afternoon. Between the NCAA and Insurance lawyers it's a wonder how any games get done in the SEC.

Finally about to resume. Tulane has the bases loaded with 2 outs, down 7-2.

Righty Hewitt on the mound for Sam Houston.

Groundout 4-3 ends the all-too-long inning for Tulane, time to stretch.

It was to the 2nd baseman, but hopefully you were mentally prepared.
