So LSU doesn't have the personnel to match up with a 2-8 arkansas team now?
Right. It’s one thing to make that argument about State given the quality of their front 7. But Arkansas ain’t State.

That about sums it up. That and O straight up lied to get the job. Everything he said he’d do and what the state of the program and expectations should be going forward were all bunk. The program looks exactly like it did when he took over. A 2-4 loss a year program. Many would argue that’s decent, even good some years. Then why did we fire a coach who was decent to good but couldn’t revive the offense or get past Bama and replace him with someone who can’t revive the offense and can’t get past Bama?

Because we can’t protect.
Plus we have a qb that’s been in the team for about 3 months and an avg at best group of running backs.
It’s that simple.
You don’t just snap your finger and everything is automatically fixed and different.
Lukcliy for O he has an nfl line coach and basically every player returning next season.
I’m frustrated as anyone

No. Rebuild.
That’s how he got the job. You’re not getting it. If O had said there’s a massive talent deficiency and I’ll need several years to rebuild this thing- he’d have never gotten the job. He’s not a program builder and he knows it. Everyone knows it. He said the the program was ripe for a title run. He said he’d just be a manager. He said he’d bring in the best coordinators available and we’d be ready now. We comin.......None of it was true. Now he’s trying to make you think he never said it and the program was in shambles. The dude is a snake oil salesman but some of you just don’t get it.

Nobody expected Miami and Auburn to completely suck either. Then MS State isnt much better.
Why do people ignore this when they claim we are exceeding expectations? When you have 2 additional top 10 teams on your schedule it looks huge at the time. But we beat a team that everyone in the ACC is beating instead. AU will be a 5 loss team. So we had a great win over Georgia then nothing.

I must live in crazy land but that sums up LSU over the past 13 years since miles got here... too many people from the miles era left on staff to push regime/culture change. So they can always fall back on miles gameplan for field position, run down the clock, defense... etc. same old shite.

How many tackles are LSU's staff recruiting?
We currently have 3 commits. Bradford who we pilfered from Michigan. Ray Parker who gives us one of the more athletic OTs (was a TE) and Perry who has a really good lineage, but is not as highly rated.
Rosenthal is going to interesting to watch. He has the size and athleticism to be a great LT. He may overtake Deculus or Charles next season if he is as good as advertised.

I didn’t think we would win more than 5 games, so I am thrilled.

The same people that are ignoring this are the same crowd that wanted Steve Ensminger as our OC because his offense set records during his interim stint, while ignoring the fact that it was against teams that were among the worst defensively in the nation.

he told the media that no one expected LSU to have only two losses.
0 is more political animal than football coach. If the expectations are low, he cannot lose...figuratively speaking of course.

How people didn't see this is laughable.
"He set records"!!! Yes, he took miles offense and ran more than 15 plays and more of shotgun. This forced teams to play more honest and LSU put up big numbers...big numbers against Defenses that were ranked 90th or worse, then he was stoned against top defenses. WHy? they knew is was the same old song and dance. This is no different than 2016 with worse execution.
Yes, the OL injuries are a problem but any OC worth his weight schemes around his teams weak areas.
I'll take the CEO word, its execution...same as we heard with Miles. Well, that falls on coaching!

team as winning ugly, winning due to LSU's special teams and defense.
what was the point of firing miles if this is going to be the strategy?

State scored two TDs on the gumps and had recovered a fumble on the gump opening drive. The refs took care of all of that. Did you watch the game?

Everything falls on coaching, whether it’s lack of talent at positions on the offense or the lack of development at these positions. That is all the fault of coaches, not the players. No extension, Coach O has two years left to fix LSU ‘s offense.

Everything starts with the Line. Not physical, not athletic enough. They stink.
But when's the last time LSU had a line that was worth much? I feel like every year we suck at O-line. Bad o-line isn't new.
Bottom line - E's scheme needs time to develop. Our O line isn't capable of creating that time. It's time for an adjustment... been time.

solid post, Burrow will be waaaay more comfortable, he will be used to the speed of the game, the Oline wont lose anyone, and if we can get Emory i think the offense could be at least ranked in the 50's. The WR's should be alot better... i think once you take out the drops there is alot of yardage to be made up for... I think Marshall and Chase will step up big time... Anderson/Sullivan and Jefferson round it all out... I really wish Jefferson would move to the slot, dillon is great and fits the mold but Jefferson isnt scared and is really good after the catch...

I liked Steve Ensminger when he was a QB at LSU - wasn't great, but did ok when he played in the Cholly Mac days. I've appreciated him over the years as a true Tiger in his time coaching. But I am not sure OC is the right fit for CSE. In fact, I'm sure it isn't based on performance this year alone. I would hope he has enough integrity and love for LSU to see this too, and honorably retire end of this season. He almost seems to be coaching half-heartedly anyway.

Ensminger is truly a great person, but he’s no Aranda, and LSU needs someone equal to Aranda on offense.
