Exactly losing games was expected.
What isn’t acceptable is what happened yesterday.
It’s not acceptable to hire a dog shite oc and bring us to a les miles era offense. What’s not acceptable is special teams losing us games.

The advocate has no impact on the coach. He has a job to do and the people who are in charge know it will take time to rebuild this team again. Maybe they are calling plays that the players can run . We are not good enough or deep enough to run with the big dogs yet but that will change eventually. This coach is good and will get LSU back to the top again.

First of all, quoting the Advocate is pretty lame. Who still reads it?
Then, as I recall Saban's salary was considered at the time as pretty damn extreme, so your salary reference doesn't hold water. Trying to compare the two situations isn't valid.
Next Saban could dodge a lot of grief because his 3 predecessors hadn't won National Championships, causing a vast portion of the LSU fan base to believe that they are somehow owed an unbroken string of championships.
You are correct in assessing that a mixture of players and coaches aren't SEC ready. Perhaps the problem is that Kelly recognized that many of them were much better than Kelly had at Notre Dame. However since he hadn't coached in the SEC, he didn't understand that better than Notre Dame isn't automatically top level SEC talent.
Kelly being warned by the free lunch crowd at the Advocate is pretty ineffectual considering the low circulation of the paper.
"We are all just trying to help Kelly........" Are you serious?
Do you somehow believe that Kelly looks to the Rant for help in coaching the team? Is it your fantasy that one day he will call you for play design advice?

I didn't realize that the POS newspaper gave a shite about football....and they don't!
They will take every chance to attack what conservatives enjoy. And they do not like the idea of a coach making that kind of money.

I don’t know what the advocate had for a headline, but the first caller after the 2000 UAB game said “give him his ( whatever amount) and let’s get us a real coach”. My dad and I still laugh about it. Saban had pressure even coming out of the dinardo years.
