Damn, didn't realize the jump from BCS to non-BCS was from 17million to a few million. That is a huge drop off.

Poor Boise.

BCS games the teams get 4+ million and then split the rest with conference...

I believe for Cotton Bowl LSU will get 1.25 million and then split rest with conference, think it was 1.5 with Capital One however not 100% sure.

I know the website that has all the information into that however, it is 3 in the morning and I am freaking lazy at this point.

Ohio State LOST almost 2 mil per Sports Illustrated 2 years ago going to the Rose Bowl after paying coaches bonuses, flying the band and boosters out a week early and the per diems. The Bowls are little thiefdoms that need to be blown up. U Conn is going to lose millions becuse they cant sell their allotment and the 500 hotel rooms they are on the hook for.No school"makes" money on Bowls . They are an expense.

That's why we need a playoff and why we will never have a playoff. Coaches and AD's make money for going to bowls and bowl heads make money off of the schools going to the bowls. A heavy amount of teams that go to mid- level and lower tier games lose money right off the bat with having to buy so many tickets.

schools that don't make a bowl at all and share the profits with their conference do.

Other than missing the 15 practice days, not going to Bowls are a better deal for most schools.

Auburn's AD broke it down regarding how much the schools actually get a couple of years ago here.

Cap One Bowl is screwing LSU by three quarters of a mil. As much as I'd rather see LSU vs aTm, that's a lot of money.

I believe this is how bowl money works for the conference. Each team playing in a bowl gets the largest share of their bowl money. The rest gets put into a pot and split 12 ways (11 shares for every other team and 1 for the SEC)
