Unless Boutte sustains some serious injury, he will leave for the draft after this season. He wants to put up some impressive numbers this year to improve his draft stock and he knows he will be WR target #1 in LSU's offense. Good luck to him this year and hope he sets himself apart from every WR

I think he wants to win the biletnikoff . He said he would've won it last yr if he didn't get injured.

I expect a huge yr.

Well I guess that seals it then. Looks like LSU will have another 7-5 season because the OC doesn’t go out to lunch and watch Netflix on a daily basis with Boutte lol

Its really no different than any other well run organization like the Military or any successful Fortune 500 Company:

Chain of Command

They have position coaches for a reason.

I know it’s not the same level but in high school I don’t think I spoke with our DC more than 2 or 3 times all 3 years and I played a decent bit on a team than won our district twice.

There's a reason Kelly keeps sending "messages" on & off field.

Boutte teeters between being for the group & being about himself, IMO

Position coaches exist for a reason. There’s a “chain of command” so to speak. Cortez Hankton is his direct senior in the hierarchy. That’s who he should be interacting with most.

I think the analogy to a business is a good one. Picture a business with 150 people. A first-line employee probably has a relationship with his supervisor, but with his supervisor’s boss? Maybe, but probably not. And these guys are only there three or four years.
If you are largely responsible for the success of the company you are probably having lunch with the owner. I don't care if you are a front-line employee or not. And in no way is Boutte just a "front-line employee".

Anyway, I am not worried about it too much. He probably talks more to Kelly who actually designed the offense.

It's pretty much just the QBs or only the starting QB spending a ton of time with the OC.

Spin it however you want, it isn't good that a guy who was in the transfer portal doesn't talk to his OC.

At your job, I doubt the fry cook talks much to General Manager.

Only the QBs need to know the entire offense. Skills players and OL only need to know run here and block there. From that you can add some nuances, but it's something the position coaches typically handle.

What I take from this is BK wants all the players to be treated the same and follow the chain of command. I also think Boutte attitude wise is exactly the type of player BK will steer clear of when recruiting. He seems like a me first type of guy who wants to be treated differently. That’s where the BK comments come in.
