Not really that shocking. BK seems to have things run very efficient. Boutte probably talks to Hankton a lot. Hankton probably tells Boutte what needs to be done. If there is a bigger issue goes to OC, then probably BK.

Kelly seems to run it like a business. Got your employees, managers, VPs, President. Just my take. Sort of goes along with BK’s comments about Boutte, and what needs to happen, etc

This is exactly what he means.

Hankton is the pgc and I'm sure he gets his direction from him.

Boutte also said that he contemplated leaving this past off-season. It's now been confirmed.

Hank doesn’t call plays. If the player you run the most plays for doesn’t talk to the dude who calls plays that’s odd…

Boutte runs routes. If this was our QB speaking that would be one thing. I get that Boutte is an elite talent, but it’s not weird that Nabers probably doesn’t chat with him. Or Thomas. Or probably Emery. Etc etc

I feel like Boutte just says things casually and tRant sprints with it. This is a non issue

That’s one persons opinion. It would be odd to many if the OC was talking to that player directly. The OC can determine based on the D presented, the down and ball location, and other factors what play to call. When players start meddling with play calling is when shite would fall apart. This ain’t the NFL and Boutte isn’t an experienced QB in the NFL where his play calling input may be warranted.

Boutte has played in 16 college games. He’s a great talent, but he brings nothing to the table in regards to advising the OC on plays

There’s more to football than running routes dude you have to build relationships especially if someone is your best player who you gave #7 to in year 1 with a new staff. And digging deeper boutte should move around and have some option routes, which means the OC would be telling him about what to look for and such and boutte would talk about what’d go through his mind. Or who knows maybe the OC will just use him like just another WR LOL.

Other way around. If you’re featuring someone in your offense, I believe y’all should be talking about the nuances. Picking each other’s brains. Talking about the mental approach as you move around, option routes, etc. but I guess the OC thinks of #7 as just another guy LOL.

Prime tRant fan you are. Spinning something from nothing. Hankton is the PGC. He is picking Bouttes brain and letting him know what to expect and how to overcome it. Some of you just love misery so much you try your best to find it.

#7 is just another guy. A very talented one but still another guy.

Let’s not pretend like Boutte is coming across as a “coach on the field” type of player either. You probably will see whoever #18 is have those interactions with coaches and players.

Oh so #7 is just another guy but #18 isn’t. Yeah that makes perfect sense thanks for clearing that up!

No his receivers coach should be telling him this.

I may be wrong but how I’m hearing is they don’t talk one on one a lot which I don’t think is very out of the ordinary. Players deal with their position coaches one on one and the coordinators usually in a team setting.

People are way overthinking this. Coordinators don’t talk much with individual players other than QBs or the position they’re assigned. They don’t have time to. As someone said, it’s like a business. “Nuances” as someone said, are discussed in meetings and the position coach discusses this with players.

Why would an OC have a better relationship with a WR just because he’s a great player. Does that mean he should talk to a LT more if he’s a projected Top 10 pick? That’s not how it works.

Burrow was the last guy we had that ran upstairs to help build the playbook. That probably isn’t happening with wide receivers. Certainly isn’t happening when 3 guys are competing for the starting QB role.
