If Brennan was told he would not be starter he would already be gone. His situation is just like Burrow’s when he left OS. A graduate senior with 2 years of eligibility. Except Brennan has the benefit of knowing how Burrow’s situation ended. I’m not saying Brennan will repeat it but he has already seen it play out and I just don’t think he stays if he hasn’t been told he’s the starter. And Max is not going anywhere when he knows he’s got 4 years with his brother.

He’s graduating in a couple weeks. He would not be gone already.

I don't think either knows who the starter is.

I don't think he knows if he will not be the starter.

Well, now you are saying something totally different. You think Brennan is going to walk if he hasn't been told he's the starter? That would be a decision that could negatively impact him forever. Winning the LSU job seems like his best chance to accomplish his goals.

What does that have to do with anything?

Brennan is knocking of a lot of rust. He couldn’t get out of bed for a long long time, much less work out or run. This competition will not be called in the spring you mother fricking morons. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s called a week before game 1.

The whole premise was that if in fact Brennan has been told. I think that dictates Brennan to do something one way or the other. I think that at this point it seems like he’s staying because he knows he’s the starter. Wouldn’t you leave if you only had 2 years left and somebody told you that the guy with 5 years of eligibility is going to be named the starter.

Wait...I thought you KNEW?

Maybe, maybe not. Some guys have dream schools that they always wanted to play for - pretty sure that's LSU for Brennan. But, hey, you seem to know everything...so maybe you can tell us.

Not every guy is wired like Burrow. Myles might be perfectly fine finishing his career out at LSU and then moving on to what is next for the guy. He seems to be doing just fine at LSU though...

What if neither has been told that they're the starter and he wants to compete to win the job?

I don't accept that premise. I haven't seen that reported anywhere.

Then you conflated Brennan being told he WAS NOT the starter with Brennan NOT BEING TOLD he was the starter. Those are two very different things. You don't seem to recognize that because you equated them and drew the same conclusion from each.

I don't think he's been told that he's not the starter. I don't think he's been told that he is the starter either. I think he's been told that he's in a competition.

Good point. So I would think Brennan would have to be damn confident. And I can see that.

It has to be johnson. The way I see it is it's his team until someone takes it from him, and I don't mean by making a some throws in a practice situation or team scrimmage...in a game, like he earned it as a true freshman. Johnson should be our starting qb. coaches aren't going to be stupid and name a starter until fall camp is almost done either bc of the risk of transfer...Brennan has to know that o is gonna play the best qb regardless of what class they are. If I were Brennan and it wasn't abundantly clear that I wasn't going to be the starter, then I would leave. I have faith that this will work itself out very quickly though and we will be fine at the position either way.

He could be in the portal already

Unless he gave O a Burrow style ultimatum, he may just like his chances in the fall

The only ones who have an idea who will probably be the starter is O and Pete
