Listening to the man last night deliver commentary, this story makes total sense. He doesn't seem like your typical player come tv analyst. Makes you wonder what kind of coach or management role he could play in a team or athletic dept.

I Agree! Booger needs to go head to head with Herbstreit and tell him why Miles has to go.

I remember him being a fairly serious student. He sat up front and asked questions, but didn't socialize too much, from what I recall.
I was in a couple of classes with him and you are exactly correct. He was always front row and very involved in the class discussions.

That's exactly how I feel. Miles lovers think we all believe that we should win every game or fire the coach. I'm far from thinking that way. I don't mind losing to good teams as long as we had a good gameplan, everybody left it all on the field, and we just fell short. That 2012 Bama game was a heartbreaker but I wasn't even really mad about it because I felt like we played a hell of a game and just fell short with a couple of breaks that didn't go our way.

ETA: the 2012 regular season game not 1//9

Booger has beautiful teeth.

He's pretty much my favorite halftime commentator on any college football show.

If Miles will change, everyone that supports LSU football will gladly get behind him 100%.

First of all, the story about your Accounting class is really funny!

I've heard from a person who has some "inside info" (but don't ask for a link), that last Saturday a member of LSU Board of Supervisors asked CLM if he would make some changes if he were retained as LSU HC. CLM agreed and that lead to Alleva's announcement after the game. Honestly, I'm sceptical that there will be significant changes, but will wait and see for another season.

I like him too. Best analyst on that network, IMO. He's not biased at all and very objective.

I go to Baton Rouge to watch 1-2 games a year, typically games where we are playing an SEC opponent and the Saints have a home game the next day. Its a time intensive effort to get to BR from Northern California, so all I hope for with each trip is good preparation going into the game (which quickly becomes evident or not evident on the field) and the Tigers best effort. Last year I went to the State and Bama games; this year Auburn and Florida. I know every time I go, the outcome could be a loss and I accept that. I go to the support the team and catch up with friends. If our best effort falls short, so be it.

Les will keep glad handing his bosses and continue doing whatever he wants, obviously this wasn't the first time he's been asked to change things.

Some years will be better than others but 3-4 losses will be the norm until Saban goes away

You are correct, sir. The Les Miles cult is always lurking, waiting to put in their place those who would question the fearless leader.

I'll address this to you since some of these people that have posted are acting like they would agree to changes when they really just want Miles fired.

I love Coach Miles and think he's a great human being. You don't often see that kind integrity in competitive sports. He's a people person. Recruits, players, their families and many fans love him. I don't like seeing someone like him rake over the coals, get belittled because of a sport that doesn't impact the lives of fans directly. He and his family were clearly shaken by the events of this week. Yes he's a millionaire, he's a smart man that is blessed to be in a occupation that he can retire on. He clearly loves LSU and its players.
That's the main reason I defend him. It's nothing to do with wins or losses, but with his humanity.
The majority of those that support him don't like the direction of the program. I know I dont. I would have loved to see some major changes because I would love to see LSU be a more dominate program. It's fun to win.
With the time he has put in here, I feel like we should usher him out with the same dignity and integrity he's showed since getting here.
I just don't like degrading people when they are trying their best.
The time will come for a Coach Miles to leave and it should be with dignity.

Let's hope he can turn things around and if he can't, then we move on.
But for people to think most of his supporters are satisfied with middle of the pact they are wrong.

We want LSU to win, just win.

Its not necessarily the wins or losses; its the process, implementation and product. If our best possible effort, from head coach to practice squad player falls short, so be it. We just want the best for our guys; right now, we are falling short.

This. It's not about liking the coach or not liking the coach. It's about the totality of the program and making the most of it.
If you want to argue none of this is very important in the scheme of things, go ahead. I don't disagree. But if we are going to do this thing (pay our coaches, build facilities, compete for titles) then let's fricking do it and be ruthless about it. Otherwise what's the point?
