Booger McFarland story

Have been reading this site for years, but have never posted. I guess yesterday motivated me. I figured I'd go with a quick story as my first post.
As several others have mentioned, Booger McFarland provides by far the most rational and accurate assessment of the state of LSU football. Watching him speak last night reminded me of a story from circa 1997, when I was in an Accounting class with him.
During class one day, a sorority girl (forgot which one) made the comment that he asked a lot of questions in class for a football player. It was said in a manner that came across as a backhanded compliment. His response (paraphrasing) was : "I'm probably going to have a lot of money and I want to know what to do with it." I never forgot that story; I've told it to both my students and subordinates for years.
I'm glad someone like him is still an ambassador for LSU. Last night, he clearly articulated the message that I believe so many of us think: we want the Tigers to be as successful as possible and the only way to maximize our success is to change something. If Miles will change, everyone that supports LSU football will gladly get behind him 100%. If he doesn't, November 2016 will be a repeat of this past month. Its not necessarily the wins or losses; its the process, implementation and product. If our best possible effort, from head coach to practice squad player falls short, so be it. We just want the best for our guys; right now, we are falling short.

Booger gets it. It's not about "liking" the coach. He's a tiger, a fan and an objective analyst. He doesn't let feelings get in the way. He wants what's best for the program. That is all. He's not a "Saban Lover". He played for DiNardo. He wants the best and so do I. He's as disappointed as I am about the choice to stick with Less.

Agree with you completely. Watched his analysis and thought the same thing. He certainly echoed my thoughts. Good ambassador for LSU

100% agree.
He was very succinct and articulate in his case for Miles' need for improvement.
Even AFTER the announcement was made Les was staying.
Guy was spot on and he gives a shite.
Nobody hates Miles, but I damn sure hate his offensive scheme and the fact it doesn't put our team in a position to win.

Booger is a great spokesperson to have, he knows exactly what's up.

I agree with what you said, only problem these negative Tigers no matter how successful Miles is will find the negatives. They always have, even when he brought LSU a title. They love to be miserable. I think a majority of fans do support Miles. Just the negative people unhappy with life speak here more frequently. Over 100,000 fans yesterday sure supported Miles. The negative ones were on here.

Excellent post. Someone will be here soon to explain to you why you aren't a real fan. They'll make sure to put the word "fan" in quotes to make you feel bad.

Never took pics of athletes in class back then. This was the disposable camera era - going up to athletes for pics wasn't really the norm back then. I had to check my transcripts to determine if it was 1996 or 1997, before I posted.
I remember him being a fairly serious student. He sat up front and asked questions, but didn't socialize too much, from what I recall.
