Floyd is a mental case at first sign of trouble and loses command really easy.

Easily his biggest problem. The weird thing is its usually for just one inning. And to not make light of that, sometimes that all it takes.

I mean what he did to Auburn Saturday night striking out 7 in a row with ease was really impressive and not many pitchers can do that.

It seems to me they are not getting better or worse. They are inconsistent. You saw multiple guys throw their worst this weekend though.

pitching numbers across the league are inflated this year

Floyd’s numbers are well past league average. He’s been bad. No need to sugar coat everything

Yeah, it's confusing in someways mdom, Hurd has actually seemed to improve. Guidry has done decent considering the circumstances.

I think someone posted before, but did they not see Little warming up? If he had his stuff then, I understand, but in-game he had zero. Then Hellmers didn't help at all.

6 walks in the first inning isn't for that just one or two pitchers to hold the blame.

Can you define what 'talent'is in your scenerio? Talent means to be that a pitcher has good 'stuff' and can paint corners with that 'stuff'....and at the very least, throw strikes.
I watched Floyd throw a 3-2 pitch in a critical situation 55 feet. How much talent does a pitcher have to have to throw it at least 60'6" under pressure?
Obviously, I don't where the talent is after Skenes.

These guys have been playing baseball their entire lives-most year round and you think Wes is going to turn everything around in a few weeks?

ah but youre changing the talking point. I said Floyd has gotten better compared to last year. I didnt say anything about Floyd being one of the best pitchers in the league.

I’m just responding to your post, that is your talking point not mine. He’s worse than league average (fact) and he’s worse than last year (also a fact).

Stats can be misleading and not tell the whole story which is funny how you say "fact" like that makes it so.

My main talking about was that Wes has improved Floyd. That is a "fact".

Explain how they are misleading in this case.

Explain how he has improved

I believe Hurd is the difference maker. Need him to continue to step up.

I already did that with his off speed pitches. Your argument is that his stats are up but everyone's stats are up so thats pointless.

Got to agree here. We have what we have in pitching.

I’m not sure why everyone all of a sudden thinks this will change lol

Because sometimes teams get hot and make a run, like Ole Miss last year. We have talent and a proven pitching coach. As bad as it’s looked recently, it’s not impossible or unprecedented for a turnaround to happen. I’m not saying it definitely will happen, but the season is far from over.

Ole Miss came into this weekend last in the league in runs. They must have moved up a few spots after this weekend but are a few poor showings from last place
